WaPo’s Robinson: Trump Supporters ‘Need to Be Deprogrammed’

we already have calls to blacklist anyone who worked in the adminstration; to put anyone at the rally on "no fly" lists.

The self righteousness of these people is frightening.
It is well beyond blacklisting people that worked in the admin. The left's media goons are openly encouraging a dig through Parler data to start going after anybody that has supported any right-leaning movement.

It would be much better if their listeners would just finally get a clue and realize they have been continually fed total bs.
If you listen to any of those top guys and actually think your are getting actual factual information instead of complete propagandized BS, you are part of the problem.
Imagine being you and making this post straight-faced.

Look it, we live in a free country. Nobody's going to a friggin "reeducation camp". Come on.

The issue is how can we address those who feel disenfranchised by the election result. Who feel they've been cheated.

I'd say establishing what is fact and what is fiction is the first step. Call that whatever you like, but Trump has absolutely got many of his followers entranced to believe whatever he tells them.

When they believe boldfaced lies, this must be fixed.
And of course, you know the absolute truth about all of this, amiright?

Imagine falling for this.

Maybe we should do what the left has done for the last 4 and a half years. Protest, riot, loot, burn buildings, etc. Seems to have work for you guys, maybe the right should try it.
The thing about that is that most of us on the right have jobs. Couple that with the weird fact that the cops would take those of us that have been supporting them all this time straight to jail and the effect would be lost. I mean Starbucks probably let's their PhDs take a day or two for jail and court appearances.

That's the narrative. Steelworkers, coal miners and day laborers gathered around a radio waiting for guidance from Reverend Rush. It's absolute comedy.

My good buddy is an electrician. He cites Rush to me nonstop. It's literally disturbing, as my friend is otherwise a normal dude.

WaPo is right, of course.

Anyone who still believes that the election was "stolen" from Trump has mental issues. If you believe this, you have been brainwashed, plain and simple. Alternatively, you have always been a dim bulb, and simply remain ignorant. Or possibly, you simply don't *want* to accept the reality that Trump lost.

I'll stand toe to toe to any of you numbskulls to debate the issue, because you are simply *incapable* of doing so. You live in a world of innuendo, rumor and conspiracy theory.

So, yes, reprogramming people who've been brainwashed is a real thing, and if you're one of the *deplorables* that remains a Trump Truebeliever, line up for it. ;-)

Don't wanna face reality? Then take your seat at the back of the bus, and just enjoy the ride because the adults will be back in charge on the 20th.

Did they stage any insurrections? Storm the capitol?

No and no.

QUOTE="MontyPython, post: 19274489, member: 76988"] If you believe the election was stolen, and you believe violence is the appropriate response, then YEP, reeducation is obviously a potential solution.[/QUOTE]

Da, comrade. Send them to the camps!

Lol @ "otherwise normal".

I'm not saying that it doesn't happen. I just find the whole indoctrination of blue collar worker thing to be a bit much.

People believe what they want to believe whether it is right or not. Delusional people create their own reality. I was never on the “stolen election” train. There was too much separation between Trump and Biden this past election. If some people want to remain disenfranchised, then that is fine this is still America where people can make their own choices. Hell, voters have been electing politicians on both sides blindly for decades accepting boldfaced lies.

I signed up just to check it out. I didn't think it was all that great. It was like Facebook for conservatives that randomly say political stuff . . . which is the part of Facebook that annoys me so . . .
I was just determined to leave twitter and I wanted something to get info from. I like a lot of what I got from twitter, mainly the sports stuff but I'm not going back

Tuesday, Washington Post columnist and MSNBC contributor Eugene Robinson referred to President Donald Trump’s supporters as “members of a cult” that he says need to be “reprogrammed.”

Robinson, on “Morning Joe,” asked New York Times writer and 1619 Project” creator Nikole Hannah-Jones how to start and complete the “process” of deprogramming the Trump supporters.

“[T]he difference between the white citizens’ councils and the Klan back in the days of Jim Crow, and you know, Klan was lower-income, white citizens’ councils were the Josh Hawleys and Ted Cruzes of their day. But so, here’s the situation, though. … There are millions of Americans, almost all white, almost all Republicans who somehow need to be deprogrammed. It’s as if they are members of a cult, the Trumpist cult, and they have to be deprogrammed. Do you have any idea how we start that process, much less complete it?” Robinson asked.

“I don’t. I’m a journalist. I don’t know how we can stop people,” Hannah-Jones replied. “I know we can look to history, though. What ultimately breaks that power structure in the South is enforcement, right? There has to be consequences. And then once you get those consequences, I think people have to take a second look at their actions. And they have to be much more afraid to do the types of kind of violence that we saw last week.”

A tweet from Sheffield? lol
Great comeback!

Now, insist again how we've all been duped and the left has no interest in using data to punish rightwingers in a thread quoting mainstream left-wing media using data to punish right wingers.

History is irrelevant apparently - all actions of the past are to be ignored.
That's the status quo for the left, especially when one considers that one of the people running BLM's fundraising arm (Susan Rosenberg) literally detonated a bomb inside the Capital. Only 'right wing' people are violent for attacking the government. Otherwise it doesn't matter.
