War in Ukraine

Russia isn’t our number 1 threat.

What will the Biden administration do if china invades Taiwan?
You're looking at it bass ackwards there LOOOOONEY. We are China's number 1 threat. I can tell you what will happen if China invades Taiwan. All commerce with the US and most of the West and much of the Pacific will cease. That is the one thing China fears. Don't be such an alarmist.

The productive capacity of Canada is greater than that of Russia. And yet these people are acting as though, if we really wanted to, we couldn't afford to keep pace with Russian missiles or shells or whatever.

Although we did put all our eggs in one basket and the plant producing the powder for munitions of many types blew up. Seems when you are working with a volatile material having the ability to destroy the facility, a better course of action would be to have several smaller and distributed facilities. Imagine in wartime having one location for an enemy to target, and if hit, would put you our of business once the stock ran out.

No, we should be proactively making peace. i know stability in that region is important but supplying weapons will only do so much. Ukrainians are still getting killed and we're wasting money and resources.

The Biden regime fears a counteroffensive will be bad, yet all we hear is how Russia is losing. If russia is losing then I would expect to read about the promise of a successful counteroffensive by Ukraine.,

this war will end by either Russia retreating and admit defeat or by defeating ukraine there are no other options unless America pushes for peace. I don't think Ukraine has the manpower to hold on

You mean by telling Russia to take it's trash and go back home, or by telling Ukraine they should give up Ukrainian territory to Russia ... and pretend Russia won't be back for more later on? Guess we should also assume that you wouldn't think Russia owes Ukraine some big time reparations either.

The first salvo will wipe a trillion in debt from our books.

I firmly think China is an enemy to us and most nations in Asia, but for China to attack Taiwan seems incredibly foolish. That's not to say that China may not actually be that stupid, but they would have to kill off the industry they so badly want to take Taiwan, and the bragging rights just don't mean much when you've alienated the rest of the world ... especially true if all the debtor nations tell China to suck it.

Russia will come out of this stronger than ever, both militarily and financially. Another embarrassing humiliating loss for the US of Gay
it must trigger you so much knowing that Russia is so fundamentally worried about the US of Gay, where they consider us an existential threat while fighting several other wars. I never understood why big strong manly men were ever worried about gay/lgbt/whatever. Seems like its really just a better chance to prove your value as manly men. More/better opportunities, fewer competition, more demand, more self assurance.

yet somehow you are threatened enough to consider it an existential threat. real manly.

Polish military leadership taps out... Not sure what the Polish political class has to say, however.

"We Simply Don't Have The Ammo" - Polish General Says Can No Longer Supply Ukraine, Warns Russia Has Resources To Continue War | ZeroHedge

He said during the session that he did not feel sanctions would stop Russia from having the funds to continue the war.

The general also offered a bleak assessment of Poland’s ability to send ammunition to Ukraine.

“We simply don’t have the ammunition. Our industry isn’t ready to send the equipment to Ukraine and to maintain our own dwindling reserves,” he said.
He noted that he was tirelessly presenting such an analysis in order to raise awareness.

He continued his remarks by saying that “war is not the business of soldiers.”

It is rather “a question of politics with economic factors involving finance, infrastructure, technology, food, and a range of other problems that you have to figure into the equation to be able to understand it.”
the MIC pushing for more money? Possibly making up stories/fear in order to get more money? I bet you agree with them that we should invade Iraq a second time. I always enjoy when Ras turns off the critical thinking, and starts buying into what he used to call bs.

Who exactly is Poland stock piling munitions to fight Moe? Other than Russia who else in Europe are they going to fight? Is Italy going to rise up with the second coming of Mussolini? Is France going to resurrect Napoleon and go on the conquest trail again? Is Hitler going to reconstitute the German military? Oh wait that stupidity is actually a corner stone of your idiotic narrative.

The war Europe has been preparing for is here. And they don’t even have to put a single citizen in harms way to fight it.
I am pretty sure there are a couple Mussolini's in some form of power in Italy, and their government has gotten more extreme than they have been in a while.
France does have the largest standing army in Europe, sans Russia, with a good bit of internal strife. similar to the conditions that lead to Napoleon taking over.
The Bundeswehr has drastically increased their spending.

Not saying your overall argument is wrong, just that the examples you gave may not be the ones you want to make.

War isn’t breaking out within the EU in anybody’s lifetime posting here today. Russia is the primary threat to Europe ahead of even China. China is a geopolitical adversary but they aren’t a threat to any EU country’s sovereignty. Russia has shown they are both.

I wouldn't be so sure. There are a number of potential flash points that are intertwined.

Failing/stalling economy. Demographic/population shifts. Changing governments. Increases in military spending.
I think even NATO is getting so big it will start having some internal divisions. You already see it with Turkey and Hungary. With so many nations having input NATO is losing a clear direction. Russia's invasion revitalized it, but didn't get rid of the existing problems.

Heck I don't know, we all know how most peace treaties work. Based on your logic, if there is no middle ground then we send troops in now or we cut off funding. No reason to go half-way

If you think Russia isn't going to stop, Ukraine and America have few options.

didn't watch the clip, because I never do, but what's the bona fides of a guy retired for 20 plus years from actually being in the know?

This was said by Clark sometime around 2003 I believe. This was right around the same time that he declared his intention to win the Democrat nomination to challenge George Bush for the presidency in 2004. Clark supervised NATO’s campaign to oust Serbia’s forces from Kosovo in 1999. I think he probably was in the know back in 2003 when he said these things.

But look how the two asshats that run Hungary and Turkey are accommodated. NATO and the EU both bend over backwards to accommodate member states I’d say. Too much so even.

I’m not saying it won’t ever happen. I just don’t see it happening in the coming handful of decades.

yeah they were able to bend over because NATO is at peace. we had the luxury to make the adjustments. You really think they are going to stand by and let Hungary hold them up when SHTF? Kinda like the UN, giving everyone a voice is not always a good thing.

I think ultimately both Hungary and Turkey need to see if their strategic interests lie with NATO and the EU or with BRICS. And NATO and the EU need to do the same evaluation

It's a war that Ukraine (and NATO) can't win. Had they simply abided by the Minsk Agreements, their country would be intact.
