War in Ukraine

Ukraine should want ties with Europe, but not want to be in the EU. Basically what the Brits did.

The EU political leadership is not good, but it sure beats "Have ties with us or we'll invade you" leadership from Putin.
So you're basically saying what I've been saying since winter of 2013/2014. The EU is too dysfunctional for them to gain anything by joining it. Their best bet would be independent and/or look eastward. The future is in Asia...

So your opinion isn't coming out of my keyboard. Got it. That's easy to understand.

It was me that your account encountered re: compatibility of socialism or social democracy with a constitutional republic.

And yours that implied McGill is playing some kind of role or mentally disturbed for stating energy prices are hurting people like himself and that this government is purposely trying to make the price of fossil fuels painful by undercutting them for unreliable and heavily subsidized 'green' energy; those are both true statements.

What did you mean by that? Has someone Joy-Reid'ed your account?

If Ukraine is having to deploy from Poland that means Russia unfortunately has probably destroyed most, if not all, of Ukraine's airfields.

Yes they have. And alot of their planes.

But this prospect is more worrisome... flying out of Poland would infuriate Russia and they'd attack Poland and... whammy WWIII.

That's because you don't know where to look. NATO has worked perfectly since it's inception.
On this, we will agree...

'Keep the Russians out, the Americans in, and the Germans down': a potted and bloody history of Nato

'Keep the Russians out, the Americans in, and the Germans down' - those were the words of Nato’s first Secretary General, Lord Ismay, when explaining the aims behind the new military alliance (as it was then). Simple rhetoric it may well be, but Ismay’s words seem to be of haunting significance in the world we inhabit more than half a century later.

HEAVY bombing in kyiv. Huge explosions. They took out the radar station. Putin is making his push, and the US says the Russians just stirred up a hornets nest. I think they just woke a sleeping giant in Ukraine. No ****.

We will NOT get directly involved because that is what Putin wants. He wants US in the fight. They way he can go "look see... I told you so!" We will NOT. And he has no excuse for nuking ANYTHING, so quit with the fear. It has become clear that We WILL NOT STRIKE. Even if he does first. We will go in and do this the hard way if he does.

If he were insane - and there's no indication he is - and attempted to launch nukes, I think the odds are much greater than not that he is taken out internally.

Putin and his general zod have a **** tone of armory they can dispose of and are experts at scare tactics. They are hoping to :

1: scare the **** out off the Ukrainians (and they probably would the Americans)

2: most of it is decoy and they will wind up marching the rest of the way in. guess what's going to happen then?

3: I absolutely believe they dropped a foab.
