Warlick post-game presser: 'Honestly, I don't have an answer'

No matter how many times you post this, it's not going to happen.

Is it due to AD support for the staff, or maybe overall school support, a desire to maintain spending with all the budget issues from elsewhere, a lack of interest in making changes ("who would we get that's better?"), a lack of interest in spending what it would take to bring in another coach, or something else? I'm curious. I'm not in the "let's fire her today!" camp but even I think that the seat would be getting warm if they miss the NCAA tournament this year. I realize women's basketball lives in a different bubble than men's basketball, but if this were the men's program starting to slide I would expect a stronger reaction. Maybe it's just that it's not sliding as much as we all feel it is? (Even though it sure feels like a slide)?

Well, the post I was responding to wanted to fire her in January when the new AD takes over, and that's not going to happen.

But the reality is, no AD leads his or her department with the FIRE EVERYBODY! mentality that seems to be prevalent on social media and message boards. An AD isn't going to fire a coach that has been to the Elite Eight three times in four years, including just last year. That just doesn't happen.

The Elite Eight? The way this season is headed the LVs won't even get an invite to the Big Dance! But in the mean time?

Well I guess that's it y'all, DeerPark12 has spoken. Put down your pitchforks and torches, turn around and go home.

Holly is as lost as she has been every year. Nothing new.

But good enough for our AD apparently.

UT's two biggest sports: Football and Women's B-ball.

Both led by coaches who are lost, can't make in game changes, can't recruit, and are slowly driving UT into mediocrity that we will not recover from. Recruits going elsewhere.

How much longer will this go?

All things considered, women's bball recruiting looks great. You couldn't possibly follow it and post this.

Because, as recruiting coordinator, she basically didn't recruit for two years. I'm not going to go into it further.

Maybe she felt her services were needed elsewhere (like coaching) since Holly wasn't getting it done and she felt Holly should be recruiting! That game when Holly benched herself and Coach Law and Elzy coached the team they looked better than any team Holly had coached (with these same players)

That's not accurate.

What coach says "I honestly don't have an answer". And Jaime said "we all need to get in the gym". I know a coach who would have them in th gym and running stairs and practicing 100 shots a day.

We may be watching the worst Lady Vol team in history. Very good chance that we may exceed 14 losses of last season. I don't know how we turn the season around. We have games with SC, Notre Dame, Texas, Miss. St twice, and Stanford. How do we win any of those games?

I told ya'll before the season started that it would be terrible.

You can't play effectively with no bench, no point guards, a head case superstar and crappy leadership.

Nothing is accurate to you and you will support Holly to the sky falls, oh well continue on. Let her continue to destroy the program

Well, if you keep posting things that are false, I'm going to point it out.

This team and program have issues, that's not in dispute. But the end result of three of her four years has been the Elite Eight. Sure, they need to improve greatly to make the NCAA Tournament this season. But for all the ripping on her, Holly has shown that she is capable of getting her teams to that point.

I still fail to see how three Elite Eights and three SEC Championships in four years and the runaway #1 recruiting class for next year is "Destroying the Program."

Because under Holly, E8 has become the gold standard, not the mark of a disappointing year.

Things will change at UT when the fans starting forcing the administration to be accountable for results by quit
attending, revoking your donations, and turning off the tv.

Personally I've had it. Until I'm convinced this university wants to excel at athletics the way Florida demands excellence (the way we used to in the 1990's) I'm out with my donations, my attendance, and my eyeballs. The university treats the AD like an ATM rather than an investment. Other SEC AD's are passing us. Alabama used to be all football. They now possess multiple national titles in multiple sports. Bama figured out how you can use your athletics profile to up the profile of the academic side of your university and has seen a tremendous rise in the last 5 years. Kentucky used to be all basketball and 10 years ago President Lee Todd charged Mitch Barnhart to build an all around comprehensive top tier SEC athletic program. The fruits continue to pay off. What used to be a cellar dweller SEC AD has churned out consecutive top 25 Sears Cup results the past 5 years. Meanwhile UT fumbles and bumbles in stupidity. They can continue to do it but until I think they are really all in-I'm out.

2:21-2:42: "We're a tal...you know, we've got players that are underachieving. We're just underachieving, and we're not playing hard, and I don't know. Honestly, I don't have an answer. So, they looked a lot more better prepared than the Lady Vols."

I do have an answer and it is not you Holly.

Personally, I think Cooper is desperately missed. Not just her measurables, either. Coming into the year, she's the one I thought could give an emotional spark when necessary. Andraya, too. She makes some goofy mistakes, but she's a scrapper, which is exactly what's missing.

Consider the source. It's well known Deerpark is a shill for the athletic department...

No, I'm a shill for facts. And when people say things that aren't factual, I'm going to point it out. If you don't like it, this site has an "Ignore" button.

I have always had respect to what you bring to all Boards on Lady Viols and will have in the future but your continued defense of Holly Warlick as Head Coach is head scratching to the point I am almost bald .

Why doesn't Holly just ask another coach for help with her team. Didn't Pat Summitt bring the Villanova coach to Knoxville to teach her how to run an offense when things got stagnant?
