It's an election year and there are people trying to find ways to use this tragedy to their advantage...so there are a lot of lies floating around out there and it's difficult to decipher what's true. Unfortunately, a lot of people are primed to feed into rumors and spread them right now. I think energy would be better focused on the people in need and trusting that there will be a time to sort out praise and blame later. It's an unprecedented disaster in areas where a lot of people live in homes that are hard to get to by design, so it shouldn't surprise anyone that it's going to take a while to get to a lot of these folks when all the roads are gone, trees are down, and debris is everywhere. You can't land a helicopter wherever you want, so help will have to come in on foot for many. It's a true nightmare scenario without an easy solution. I'd prefer to show grace to everyone involved right now. Just my take.

I trust nobody especially someone sitting in the Presidential seat in Washington D.C.

That what makes it so frustrating is that of all the people in this country that would make great caring thoughtful tough leaders, we send the stupidest laziest excuse filled bags of crap to DC over and over and over again and think that this time around they will truly do what is right and best for their constituents. We have to stop voting for letters and start voting for people. Our people have to stop identifying themselves as letters. The letters need us divided. They want us divided. And here we are on a Saturday morning sniping at one another on a sports discussion forum doing their bidding.

We send some decent people up there, problem is they get bought and paid for about 5 min after they get off the plane. Im not sure it would 100% solve it but we need term limits badly.

When my grandfather was alive, he always said he would never vote for a politician or contribute to their campaign unless term limits was on the top of their issue list. I don't know if it is a 100% fix but it is needed desperately. Career politicians is not what our founders intended or envisioned. True Civil servants. Unpaid. Sacrificing their own to serve the best interests of their neighbors.
