Not all. Clinton made his out of office. Obama did similar. It’s the Sec of transportation and those jobs you have to worry about while in office but plenty of them do it out of office. They’re basically selling their networks and knowledge of how government or a department works and what the individual in charge is like.

Out of office it’s influence peddling. In office it’s corruption if money changes hands but if I were to present you a solid lead or gift after office for completely unrelated thing it’s legal. This is why all politics is dirty all of it. You just gotta decide if any are gonna give back to the taxpayer and citizens.
LMFAO what a hill to die on 😂😂😂

I’m not sure you understand me. There’s no hill. There’s a process for High level figures to make shady but legal money out of office.
Their intellectual property isn’t that valuable… it’s what they can do for others that is.

Does Obama need 5 or six mansions? Any politician for that matter? Maybe the better question is how did he co e about the funds for thise mansions making a few $100K/year. Again, any politician for that matter.

I realize guns are not your thing. I'm sure there are things that I would think are wasteful. You also have to remember that collectors collect. No different than coins, stamps, dolls. Many are investments. It's not always about hunting, protection, over throwing governments, the apocalypse, etc..
Yes, I get it.

Not a ton of stamp related suicides or coins being used in commission of a doll theft.

Isn't true charity done anonymously? Or should one brag about it?
The person receiving the charity could care less and the receiving of resources is all that truly matters.

The rest is ego. Whether tellings others or not, the ego is being fed.

Disney tried to destroy Twitter by not advertising with them? That's such a whiny b**ch take. It's a free country and companies have a right to advertise with whoever they want. Got to love seeing common folks manipulated by manufactured outrage into backing billionaires because they lost a little money. Talk about taking the bait...

Yep, it’s a guy marketing his business lol.

I enjoy some disney products. They need to stop pretending they're a political activist organization. Not everyone is endeared by their content, conversely Elon riding off into the sunset wouldnt be a bad thing.
Agreed on Disney. Unlike the Disney CEO, Musk appears to spend his personal wealth on his beliefs instead of high jacking corporate dollars for political statements. Public companies should have no political stances and should be fully focused on their business only.

Yep and the point of that thread is that the woke companies are part of a HUGE advertising coalition that together accounts for something like a third of ALL ad revenue in the US. The named companies Disney(which now owns ABC, ESPN, and about 50 other big companies), Coke, Apple etc colluded to ALL pull 100% of their advertising off of Twitter (at the same time) because Musk isnt part of the woke/Democrat/globalist cabal and he actually gives a voice to Conservatives on his platform as well as Leftists, without censorship...unlike Facebook, Google, Instagram etc. The Hunter Biden laptop censorship and spreading the known BS that was the "Russian Collusion" propaganda was a blatant attempt by the former owners of Twitter, FB, IG, Google etc to alter the outcome of the 2016 and 2020 elections by hiding negative press about Biden and his family while pushing anything negative about Trump in front of as many eyeballs as they possibly could.

What they did was illegal, and got the owners hauled in front of Congress once and threatened with jailtime. They never thought Trump would get elected again and started up the same BS this time around. Thats why Zuckerberg was just at Mar a Lago recently sucking up to Trump and he donated $1MM dollars to some Trump related business in an attempt to keep his sorry azz out of prison. Twitter/X is the last censorship free media that anyone actually uses. The last outlet for free speech. I dont think Trump defeats Biden this year without Musk buying the company. All the other media outlets are Leftist propaganda machines. Americans sent a clear message in November that identity politics and the woke BS are not what we want in this country. The aforementioned companies, that adopted some insane woke/DEI policies and stances during Bidens horrible 4 year term would be wise to listen to the message from the election results and alter their courses. Go woke, go broke. Ask Bud Light.

Musk should stfu.

I just picked up eggs for my mom and was shocked they were 6 dollars for a dozen. wtf?
The government lie that the price of groceries went up 10% or whatever they made up was a huge insult to the public, and the fact that it wasn't called out for the most part by the "news" media was downright Soviet imo.

I'm not talking about politics. I'm taking about people's food bills increasing at least 50%. Maybe close to double that if they didn't change their buying habiits (lower their standard of living). Meanwhile all I heard the last two days from the same "news" sources was that x and y "are going to (get this) raise prices." It's disturbing. Yeah, eggs roughly doubled in price. Beef doubled. I've been paying double for "inexpensive" things like oatmeal and pasta. Bracketing politics per se as a topic -- which I'm trying to do -- it seems like false reporting on the regular (by commission and by omission) is a disaster for all people. Credibility is shot. That's not good.

Egg laying hens are dying from the bird flu. Hence the spike in the price of eggs, grocery store manager told my mother the price of a dozen of eggs will top out at $10 a soon ..

Someone posted this earlier in a different context. I made a copy for future use with respect to South Carolina football, but I'll just toss it out now. 😄

False reporting is such a massive issue. False or skewed reporting to satisfy the targeted listeners is causing so many problems but these would be lessened if people just 'fact checked' what they are consuming. For instance, read across a broad section of reliable sources on why inflation is up, not just information spewed by 'the media'.

You are probably smarter than me, but dairy prices are different than many other food prices. It's not all about inflation per se. While increases in production costs can raise prices, there are also government subsidies involved as well, which can control prices. I just know that I have seen dairy prices fluctuate when inflation wasn't an issue. USDA can control some of that.
