was Cublic being facetious or serious?

Even if that's the case, you still have to communicate with your coaches. Nico handled this in an incredibly unprofessional manner, and when you're making $2M plus, like it or not, you are expected to behave professionally.
what??? I don't even want a kid on the team that those words come out of their mouth. this is football not cheerleading.

maybe I'm jus way old school on that, but jus seems crazy to me

Nico has nothing to cry about. He played one season. He did play in Bowl game against Iowa. But he got paid even when he did not play. Tennessee was very good to him i believe.

Probably looking to set up a lawsuit against the university for interfering with his NIL agreement with Spyre Sports, in an effort to try to spin away from the exorbitant cash demand that his handlers felt he was entitled to.

The university and their exchange needs to negotiate these deals from a position of strength, these are not employment contracts with the university or contracts to play football, they are NIL deals that allow you to market your name, image and likeness and pocket what you generate from your fame, success and notoriety on the athletic field of play. Having caved on a number of difficult renegotiations, Nico Suave probably assumed the university and the exchange would fold here as well before Orange and White and the portal opening again.

It is very easy money for the athlete but it's not a bottomless pit to throw money from the money tree at.

This is nothing but Nicos camp trying to save face. They are desperate to change the narrative so the university looks like the one at fault. They have already tried saying that Heupel not implementing more pro concepts was the reason they quit. It's all a bunch of horsesh*t. This was about money plain and simple. They got greedy and their bluff got called.

I'm a bit skeptical of the whole mental healthy day off, but there could be a lot he is dealing with being tugged inbetween his family and the Tennessee staff.
This is his Dad's latest rebuttal. That Nico skipped bc he "needed a mental health day." So yes it's true from the standpoint.

Cole Cubelic is a standup guy. This is a great clip. Thanks OP for sharing it.

Cole said "I don't think Ryan Day is someone who wants to welcome that BS"

"There's 0.0% chance that Marcus Freeman would deal with that."

He even goes on to suggest UCL may be his next stop, but then says there will be "at least one college coach who will think he can set that right and deal with that mess"

Woo boy. Cole didn't hold back!

You cant take a mental health day without notifying someone. By all accounts he was a no show. That is not the same thing
I'm not opposed to someone asking for a "mental health day" but the UT Athletic Department has medical and psychological staff to evaluate and assist with those issues just like any illness.

It's still a no call, no show and there's absolutely no way the team didn't make calls to Nico's designated emergency contacts, likely his family, to make sure he was okay. No way. Maybe they didn't answer either but there's absolutely no way UT just said, "Oh well, I'm sure Nico is fine and he'll wake up and call back." Did they ALL need mental health days?

This, like the other crap they're trying to spin, doesn't pass the smell test.

"Mental health day", considering what was going on and the timing, that excuse sounds infinitely more weak than it does just on its own...

They really screwed the pooch here....

Don't give me that do goody good ********
