Apparently the reports of Dak Prescott returning were a bit premature:

After a day to think about it I think what this bowl season has shown is that the top teams from other conferences match up well with the top teams in the SEC, while the the middle of the pack SEC teams still out class the middle of the pack teams OoC.

The west was definitely overrated. I'm glad that the bowl games proved how over hyped the west was and how the east wasn't just riding its coat tails. Hopefully all this top heavy west and the east just being mediocre talk will stop and reflect in the preseason polls.

I think part of it the West teams beat up on each other not only physically but psychologically this season and when you watched their bowl games it appeared none of them were playing with a lot of intensity. It was almost as if their bowl games were a let down to the drama of their regular seasons. Also, neither Alabama's or Auburn's defenses were as formidable this year as they have been in recent years.
