This whole thread is how norovirus spreads so rapidly on cruise ships; close quarters, buffets everywhere, a LOT of people NOT washing their hands properly who are not only catching the virus but continue to spread it around some more in the process. it's literally a domino effect.
On our cruise last month, we avoided the huge buffet that was the main dining option at breakfast and lunch. It takes a little more of your time to have a sit down, made to order meal, but the food is better and you avoid the sneeze shelf.
