I know they most likely will get in but IMO this is NOT one of the top 4 teams in the country. They have played nobody of worth this year other than USC (a game they lost handily at home). Michigan should get in over them. I think they would give Alabama a better game.

I honestly think teams like South Carolina and Kentucky could beat them. If Washington was in the SEC or ACC they would be a 5-6 loss team. Was not impressed with them at all last night. They had no athletes outside of John Ross. They looked weak along the lines of scrimmages. And overall just looked really small. Almost Group of 5 level small. Definitely did not look like a team that could survive the SEC grind.

I expect Alabama to annihilate them in the Peach Bowl.

The huskies may not win the whole thing, but they earned their way in.

I dont know how good they are if you want to get technical. But, they didnt back into being 12-1.

And there are some good teams in the Pac 12.

In addition, this is the wrong year to play the SEC card

Nope. Its downright terrible right now. Only USC has anywhere close to the talent needed to compete in the SEC.

And I disagree with the media narrative surrounding the SEC. I actually believe this is possible the STRONGEST year in the history of the SEC when it comes to DEPTH. We may not have as many many teams at the top of the playoff rankings but there is incredible depth in the conference. Anyone from #2 to #14 can beat each other.

I think once the bowl season and NFL draft comes around the narrative around the SEC will flip. The SEC will dominate the bowl season once again showing its incredible depth. And as my other thread on this forum shows, there is a chance the SEC has a record number of players taken in the 1st round of the NFL Draft this year.

So if the SEC dominates the bowl games and the draft we can stop buying into this media narrative that the SEC down. I believe the SEC has never been stronger top to bottom as it is now.

No athletes? Yeah all the first and second round picks on their roster are just so unathletic. They have one of the top five offensive lines in the country and multiple NFL players on the defensive line. You don't actually watch college football do you?

Watching that game last night. I just saw Browning running for his life all night against Bama. Washington reminds me of TN, just better coached. Had CU played their backup QB that game would have been a lot closer.

Colorado has played both Michigan and Washington this year.

Michigan won 45- 28 +17
Washington won 41- 10. +31

Washington 12- 1
Michigan 10- 2

Argue against this.

Here's what I know.

Florida is in the SEC title game. Florida has the 2nd best record in the SEC, both overall and within the league. They are also the 2nd highest ranked team in both the AP and Coaches polls.

With that, I would not feel good about Florida's chances against Washington, WSU, Colorado, Utah, USC or Stanford. It also doesn't mean that a win against the bottom half of the league would be a definite win, because it wouldn't.

And that goes for the rest of the league outside of Alabama.

First of all, Florida got rocked by Tennessee and Arkansas this year. And LSU also dominated them everywhere but the scoreboard. There is no clear cut #2 in the SEC. There are just 5-6 teams that could all beat each other on any given day.

And you're being too humble, I would have Florida as a 10+ point favorite over any of those teams. Your team has 5 first and second round draft picks on your defense (Wilson, Tabor, Davis, Brantley, and Maye). Only Alabama approaches your defense in terms of talent. A healthy gators squad would shut down all those offenses. And superior athletes on the offensive side like Antonio Callaway and Jordan Scarlett would make enough plays.

I think Florida would beat Washington EASILY. 21-10 or so.

Tennessee destroyed Missouri. Missouri beat Vanderbilt.

I'm guessing by your logic we easily won the game against Vandy? Right?

Yes, because they all suck. Does the AFC South have "great depth" as well?

D4H is a troll. That or he's going to just keep trying because he's wrong so much.

Back when UT had a slim shot at the playoffs, he argued the playoff committee valued a conference championship, so if we upset Alabama, that would be huge to them. Now Washington wins their conference and shocker, he's arguing that means a whole lot of nothing.

GFTO troll. Don't you have another bandwagon to jump onto?

D4H don't answer a question with a question. Be specfic.

Listen transitive property does not work. This is what you are implying.

But How do you measure a team (Washington) against a team that is supposedly better ( Michigan)?
Answer: anyway you can.

- Commom opponent
- overall record

For the record... i think you're probably right.

But Washington beat Colorado worse than Michigan and has a better overall record. Not to mention they're conference champions.

You have to gauge perception and overall resume.

That is because they are all average teams. There is no SEC team, other than Alabama, that can win a Power 5 Conference.

They should get in if they win the PAC12.
I want the BIG12 to be broken up, and the 4 teams in the playoffs are the 4 conference champions. That would make it basically an 8 team playoff. Also how can you be a national champion if you don't win your conference? That's like saying I own my house except for my living room, someone else owns that.
