"Maybe we can get to 8 wins"?

You know less about football than you do basketball. That's pretty sad considering
I also hope for 8. Lets count them. Not confident in a win over Bama or UGA. That's 3 losses right there. Then we have Kentucky and Vandy. Vandy is currently playing better than we are. We lose to one of them and we only win 8. MSU could also get it together on offense.

I'll always take the win. Glad we beat those swamp lizards. However, we have a lot of work to do.

Honestly I think it was beautiful. This is exactly the type of game we'd normally lose to FL. Our crowd, our defense and our Dylan said no more.
I was sure they were going to punch in that two point conversion and then in overtime I fully expected that field goal from them to go through lol. In years past it definitely would have.

We did exactly what it takes to beat Florida. Coach Heupel can take another shot at a winning record against Florida next year at the Swamp.

I want to know what they’re calling a hold every time Nico scrambles. That is the primary challenge to our offense.

Very glad to escape with a win. It's hard to be "happy" about it knowing what is ahead and what the deficiencies are on offense. Looks like all the SEC games will be like the last two.

My thoughts on the game. The Defense played their hearts out and can play against any offense. Their play in the red zone was outstanding. Play calling continues to be conservative and , again, almost cost us the game. Conservative play calling has put our offense in search of our SEC games and we are fortunate to have lost only one game. There have been some exceptions to this pattern. In overtime last night, the offense came out with an aggressive set of plays and the offense marched down the field and scored. When we passed on first down, we usually made first downs on those series unless we had penalty. The offense plays much better when we run super fast. This was demonstrated in certain series of play calling against Oklahoma, Arkansas, and last night. In overtime we were super fast and their defense had no answer. Line drive punts cost ua in the fourth quarter and put the defense in terrible positions and cost us points. We will continue to play poorly until we open the offense opens up the game on first down .

I do love beating Florida, but I’m quite disappointed that the offense was as bad as last week. Nico just isn’t nearly what we thought he was.
I'm sure everyone else has the idea om about to say but I think he's being too cautious, not for sure cautious is the word... I don't want to use fear, but "concern" of being hammered is freezing him up. I also think he is waiting for the receivers to be Open before anticipation of them being open

Just got in. This was the same thing I was going to post. OL played bad again in first half.

And refs sucked. Dylan scored on the first run in OT. Why no replay? Refs missed blatant calls including block in back on Floridas last punt return. We get a holding call every time Nico scrambles which looked like really weak calls.
Also looked like Nico got that 1st down in the 4th and no reviews of the spot

Great win but some of the worst football I've watched in over 50 years. Hope we can get to 8 wins.
50 years really? Including the time Mizzou put up 600 yards of offense on us under Dooley? I guess you didn't watch that game

Lets move on to the big game next weekend.

I looked at the box score for the Iowa game, Nico ran the ball 15 times. Enough said. Come on down Bama.

Florida may not win another game until Thanksgiving against Florida State, next week they get Kentucky, followed by Georgia, Texas, LSU, and Ole Miss

No...our primary issue is the fact hes having to scramble so often in the first place. They are calling those holds because out guys are holding because they are losing which is why Nico is scrambling and not sitting in the pocket.

If we could hold up better against the pass rush they would not be able to drop 6 guys in coverage and Nico wouldnt need so much time in the pocket. Its literally like the difference of probably less than a second.

Were there some questionable calls? Sure, but we shouldnt be in position for those calls to get made in the first place. Also news flash...holding penalties on QB scrambles are almost expected. Chaotic things happen during chaos. Its unplanned. If we are getting lots of holding calls on planned runs thats a huge problem.

Nico only scrambled a handful of times throughout the game. He ran outside the pocket some other times when it was part of the play design, but that’s not a scramble.

Still, it is all a part of our pass protection failure as we barely saw any of that against Oklahoma and Arkansas.

I am hopeful. We've played the same basic defense (opponents defense) 3 games in a row. Last night I saw that our offense was actually moving the ball (inconsistently). If not for holding calls and turnovers I think we would have won going away. There was improvement over the Arkansas game. If we knock out the drive killing nonsense that we are doing to ourselves, then I think we give Bama a rough night. Have the defense spy Milroe and contain their offense and we have a really good shot to knock them off.
