That's cool....Where you go to school at? I go to Gatlinburg Pittman

Sullivan North.

Doubt you've heard of us. We played someone in Pigeon Forge a year or two ago in the playoffs.

Yeah I've heard of ya'll...We used to play ya'll some in football when we were 3A...I think it was you all anyways....LOL....Pigeon Forge...Don't even get me started....We OWN them!!!! Played them in football every year since they opened up and beat them like red headed step children [/quote]
Yeah, North use to dominate at athletics around these parts but now its that god foresaken DB. (Dobbens Bennett)

North did win their conference this year though, then we lost to Lenoir City. Don't remember how bad it was.

We really aren't good at basketball. Last year our coach was Ty Randolph (Ex-Globetrotter) and his practices were like what you'd see on the movie "Hoosiers" or something. He was probably the best coach i've ever played for. We did decent last year. 2 players got scholarships to UVA-Wise but I dont know how they are doing. This year we have some big bald dude. He is a terrible coach. I went to one of his practices over the summer. We ran about 2 miles and he gave us 0 water breaks. I decided I didnt want to play for him. We have won only 2 games with only 3 games left to play. ;)

Really the only thing we're good at anymore is football...We used to have tons of talent in basketball but when The Forge opened up it took most of our kids away.....We got a new baseball coach last year and we're rebuilding our program somewhat...I played last year and we done more than what we had in the last 4 years so that's a positive.....Looking forward to this year though...Should be OK in baseball

Yeah i'm a sophomore at North.

Mama's House is pretty good. I don't really eat there a lot though. Ever eat at Pop's? Its one of those gas station restaurants also on John B. They have awesome breakfast. Also, Chester's Chicken, another gas station, is great.

Pop's is like right beside Hardees at the BP. And hell yes I love purple cow. As a matter of fact I just ate a steak bomb for dinner saturday night. There is always a huge line at the cow, i've seen it backed up to pal's!

Great food, a little pricey, but hey they have over 75 flavors of milkshakes!

Dre man we love that your coming to the Vols. Let me ask a quick question though. If I were a "Bammer" and I came to this site and seen the "gramma" you use. I might get the impression that there was no way you qualified on the SAT's or ACT's to get into college. Therefore as a "bammer" I might think that the University made some "exceptions" to the requirements for NCAA play. Do you follow the general idea I am leading up to? This would not be an issue if you had used an anonymous name. But since all the threads proved who you were, it's kind of a noticeable issue. I am sure it is all slang and your a very intelligent student but I do see point of what they are addressing.

Oh and do me a favor when standing on the podium accepting a National Title with Phil a nd the gang. Yell VolNation.com BABEEE.

Stay Cool Bro

Guys, there are more important things to worry about. Dre, I am glad you post on this site. Great to have you. My wife is not the best speller and some of the smartest people I have known are not great spellers. (Including some of my University Professors). It does not mean I take them any less serious. How shallow can you be?

I apologize if I offended you . . . or should I say:

sorry if i hitt uor hot butten with my post, furgive me iff i makke assumptiuns baised onn the way peple spell things, i will try nott 2 b so shallow in th future . . . . .

Are you serious?

If you want to tell the man he should have good grammar, then say he should have good grammar for the sake of good grammar, but don't try to pretend that a random bama fan with nothing better to do than peruse our forum would have the power to cause trouble for Dre just because he chooses to type the way he does. There is NO correlation between his typing and his test scores. He doesn't have some sort of responsibility to the university to seem educated, he has a responsibility to prove he's educated in class, but otherwise is allowed to act however he wants (with certain behavioral provisions).

Yes I am serious, just don't wanna see bama posts concerning the intelligence of the athletes at UT. Not that they could talk. Given, perhaps I expect more than I should. But then again,

"There is NO correlation between his typing and his test scores. He doesn't have some sort of responsibility to the university to seem educated, he has a responsibility to prove he's educated in class, but otherwise is allowed to act however he wants (with certain behavioral provisions)."

If Mr. Mathis or any other athlete doesn't prove hes educated outside of class how then will he relate in press conferences and such associated with football. If he is answering media questions via internet would his typing matter then? My only point is college is about higher education. Not ed-u macashion. Secondly I don't actually question the boys intelligence. I question the impression people will get from it. You can reply all you like and try to convince me players shouldn't represent the University well in ALL aspects but you'll never succeed. I believe he DOES have a responsibility to seem educated and he does have a responsibility a U.T. Athlete to put his best foot forward. Otherwise we join the "Soldiers" in Miami by making UNEDUCATED responses to educated questions. And what does "but otherwise is allowed to act however he wants (with certain behavioral provisions)." mean? Are you saying do what you want just don't get DUI's, kill someone, or ruin your NCAA eligibility? Anyway I figure the slamming will assume after this post but then again I don't like people who accept sub par standards in order to justify an end goal of their own, A National Title. I don't expect us to adopt standards so high we could never win a title like for example Stanford, Duke, Yale, or most Dv II schools but folks come on.

Oh Dre this does not mean I am any less of a fan nor am I unhappy your here at UT. It means I am sick of Star Athletes being role models for kids when if you look at how they act or express themselves it's embarrassing. Personally until proven otherwise you rock.

Did you really just mention grammar to me and type a three sentence paragraph that runs on for hours?

If you want to tell the man he should have good grammar, then say he should have good grammar for the sake of good grammar, but don't try to pretend that a random bama fan with nothing better to do than peruse our forum would have the power to cause trouble for Dre just because he chooses to type the way he does.

Not trying to be an ass but that is funny. Maybe if you take your spelling and word usage and combine it with Dre's sentencing you'd make a great student athlete. Ban me from the site if that offends anyone but down playing how important educated speech and actual college level classes are is kind of insulting as well.

That wasn't a command to end the topic . . . just a suggestion. I ended up moderating my own post and deleting it anyway. :D

The spelling/grammar argument is one that is endless and always fires people up for some reason. :dunno:

what do you think bama fans think of when we start ripping on our own recruits OVER SLANG?

or how that will effect other recruits Dre comes into contact with?

Dre, talk anyway you want!! as long as you knock snott bubbles outta anyone who crosses you on the field, i could care less. i hope you turn out to be a top notch defensive leader and a future all SECer.

im sure we could beat bama in a spelling contest anyways.

ps. if this really is dre and i were a bama fan, i would think it was super cool that a recruit was even coming onto our board.

I'll say it again Dre you rock. I just disagreed with someone elses view that how you act or express yourself is irrelevant. Here it is ofcourse. But then again your too intelligent to get in front of a mic or camera and speak like you type. Just got people riled.
