So beating Georgia next week means nothing? Stop it.
It has meaning for me, beyond just beating Georgia. I really want Milton to hit on all cylinders for once, not 1 or 2 quarters, but 4 full quarters against a stellar defense. Aside from my ego, tt would generate some draft buzz for him. If he played at potential for 4 quarters, this is a good team.

Ha! Do you really think for a minute that, even if we could outplay UGA, that the SEC refs would allow it? The conference needs a team in the playoffs, and there is a decent chance that won't happen if UGA loses to us. I bet we have 20 penalties called on us next week.

Win tonight, then beating UGA would have actually meant something. Now, even if you beat UGA, we still get to watch another team play Bama in Atlanta.
Ole Miss lost to GA last night. We were going to be watching GA play Bama whether we beat Missouri or not. Changed absolutely nothing except now we'll be maybe one bowl tier lower

So how much money did you get on Georgia before kickoff yesterday? Because you saying this statement AFTER the fact is pretty funny if you didn’t slam the table on Georgia to win since it was a foregone conclusion.

Didn't like the spread. Also not what I was saying. Post I quoted was acting as though we lost with the playoffs on the line and now a win vs GA is meaningless. By his logic it would have been a meaningless game whether we beat Missou or not. My point was a win next week is still probably the biggest win in over 20 years

I hope we come out really aggressive, because it is essentially a meaningless win for them and injuries can cost them dearly. They have a LOT to lose.

Blitz early and often and put him on his ass hard. It is a different thought process where they are coming from.

We will come out a different team next Sat at home and possibly win. More of a reason to be pissed off. Life of a vol fan. Lol
Our loss stings a lot, actually would have been worse if OM upset UGA
it was an anatomy of what you do to lose to an equal team.
1.Let the team get on board first drive with a FG.
2. Go 3 & out 1st possession on a team because you knew you could run on them & they begged to differ
3. Get a TD to take lead & lose the guy that caught it
4. Give up a TD on next drive & confidence boost to QB & #7
5. Give them ball back seconds before half let the 5'9" with a 40 so slow they were embarrassed to tell the time, rip off a long run.
6. They get a FG to go up 13 to 7 to end the half
7. We regroup come out the 1st play Q3, JM runs an option fumbles & luckily Mays recovers, behind the sticks again
8. We were behind the stick on every drive a losing formula mostly due to untimely penalties
9. Get in the red Zone with a nice run by JW but he fumbles.
10 That was IMO the end of the game the team looked defeated they were their own worse enemy from that point on
11. JM throws a Pick 6, completely turn off the lights party's over
12. Miz saw blood and remembered last year. Drink drove that in to their heads, he's that type of coach and his players were fired up & played above their head and took it to the Vols.

The real litmus test will be this Saturday on how this team will react and if he has lost the team, imo we’ve seen this before…

Nah. I have yet to see any desire in this team. Pay attention to them in warm ups. Pay attention on the sidelines. Pay attention to how they react to getting man handled. They have zero fire. It’s kind of off putting and I’ve noticed it for a long time now. Only thing we can do is act like a moron when something does go right and over celebrate, but it comes across more of a selfish look at me than fire or passion.

Georgia this year often plays to level of their competition. They may let us hang around but I expect they will beat by 20+ by the time the clock runs out. Our offense can’t score TDs to keep up against this defense.

I doubt it. This team has shown us what they are all year. Started with Florida, continued against Austin Peay and then again last night. For whatever reason this team just doesn’t have the it factor or a real fire to them this year. I’d love to be surprised and beat Georgia but I’d put money on that not happening. I wouldn’t even be shocked if we stumble against Vandy.

If he l starts Milton against Vandy, it won't be a great shock.

Maybe. But the biggest problem now is having enough decent players to be competitive. We were already short some key players and lost more this week. Thornton will be a big loss. Any update on Squirrel?
