Watching The Oklahoma Spring Game...

That's one of the problems with nonconference scheduling. When you schedule so far in advance, you are sometimes going to have a team fall off. I bet Georgia thought they were scheduling quality games when they signed their series with Colorado.
C'mon hat. Colorado should always be a respectable game. But in Florida's case look at who they have been scheduling for the past 10 years in their first 2 games before the Vols. Those games have been so pathetic I just can't come up with anybody worth mentioning.

They played Miami in '02 and '03.

Alright, I've just been sick of seeing Tennessee play a decent team the first game of the year, take a week off (which I hate the concept) and then play the Gators while they play two cupcakes to get their timing and wind in synch. That's my biggest gripe about the inequities in scheduling leading to a BCS berth.

I think UT's nonconference schedule is still respectable. One of the problems is that not a lot of other powers look to sign big time home and home series. Once the schools previously mentioned in this thread all kind of signed rotating series among themselves, it cut down the field of possible quality opponents. We've got UCLA, NC State, and Nebraska in the future. That's not bad.

I thought we already had some games with OU in the future as well?

Being a huge sooners fan, I am not to high on the QB's.. I think the Nichols Kid is going to be really really good. Bradford couldnt even take his high school team to the playoffs and they had about 5 division 1 kids his senior year.. Hazle is just a back-up.. Bradford is going to win the job because he hasnt been making a lot of mistakes.. He is really skilled but I just dont think he is a winner... The RB group is just flat out sick.. Allen Patrick is a North and South hard nosed Runner, Demarco Murray is just plain Nasty, Chris Brown and Mosis Madu are two others that are flat out good... The Key to their offense is their O-Line, It might be one of the top 2 in the country... They'll beat Miami in Norman because they are going to be able to run the ball and control the clock.. If they can get past Texas then they will play for the National Title... Hopefully against Tennessee...

Tennessee has usually been pretty good at scheduling good OOC games.

Since 2000 UT has played teams like:

Southern Miss - Good Mid Major
Syracuse - Good at the time.
Notre Dame
Miami
California
Fresno State - Good Mid Major
Marshall - Solid Mid Major
etc...

Teams on UT's future OOC Schedule:

California
UCLA
Nebraska
Oklahoma
Oregon

More to come...
