We all got caught up in the hype

Better beat Vandy by 50. Anything less than something has went wrong with the culture suddenly

I liken this season to the stock market. For 11 weeks it was a bull market that reached a bubble. You kinda knew it was too high but just enjoyed the ride. At some point, there was going to be a correction. Last night we saw it crash.

And forgot how close this team was to entering this game 7-3 or even 6-4. We all just assumed we'd win. Watching other scores instead of focusing on the game. I'm sure the players were caught up in that mindset as well. That's on the coaches. Hopefully we'll regroup and win next week. Vandy will be fighting for bowl eligibility and I expect a dog fight.
I enjoyed the hype. I enjoyed expecting to boat race the opponent. I enjoyed our number 1 ranking even if fleeting. I enjoyed all the national buzz.

I personally wouldnt change a thing.

The second we beat Bama this WHOLE FANBASE started the “we only have one possible loss on the schedule” talk. Georgia was the only focus for the rest of the season. Anything else would be catastrophic failure. You would be absurd to believe the team was not approaching it the same way. They buy into that crap. You can coach speak all you want about focusing on the next game.

you got caught up thinking you were better than you actually were. Pitt is not good this year and it took overtime to win, UF not good at all this year, Alabama had 17 penalties and a missed field goal to win, LSU can be good but you don't know which LSU will show up. UGA showed what a good defense and offense can do. UT was just a play or two away from having 3 or r4 losses but the ball bounced their way for most of the season. UT relied in their offense being their best defense and that was bounds to catch up to them and it did. It was still a good year but part of that good year is the rest of the sec is having a down year.

Lol you can try and justify anything you want everything was what it was and Tennessee had done what they had done.

Heck they literally had the best resume in college football…….they just had a loss to go on top of that.

i didn’t get caught up in anything. Tennessee’s D sure did though. As did the D coaches.

I can't stand the "we could have had x amount of losses" narrative. There's no such thing as "almost losses." Using that logic, no loss should ever be shocking, because other games coulda-sorta-maybe have been losses, as well.

At the end of the day, final score is all that matters. We are a really good football team this year. South Carolina called and played an absolutely perfect game on Saturday. No drops. No bad throws. Great runs when needed. Played solid defense. It was unexpected, and the stars aligned that night paired with our lackluster game calling and effort. On top of that, they were still a 6-4 team going into the game. Some good wins and bad losses themselves, but they weren't the worst team in the country.

That doesn't make it excusable, because it was really really bad. But no one is immune to really really bad--it floats around at all the time and eventually lands on someone. It was just our turn.
