We already have a great three

He has had chances to get out of the doghouse. One good performance isn't going to undo all the crap performances he has acquired.

Exactly. He hasn't been playing for a reason. Also, he got burned a couple times on defense tonight that weren't acceptable.

I saw him get burned. Just wondering that we haven't seen much of him after the first half of the Pitt game.

Defense. Also, despite tonight's shooting display, he has brought nothing offensively from what we have seen.

Same can be said for a number of our players. It seems if he gets the minutes that he comes though. JMO

Im confused by the title, we already have a great 3??? are you referring to his position??

what post players can you say that about???

if he was a 2 or 3 im sure hed have had his shot, but he plays post. maymon, stokes and hall before he was suspended were light years better than miller.

he didnt deserve minutes over any one of those 3 guys.

I couldn't disagree more. In his limited minutes, 44 for the season now, he has scored 22 points. That's pretty darn efficient.

He seems to make several impressive individual defensive plays, but his overall understanding of team defense is lagging behind. Perhaps he just needs some live playing time to improve that. With his offensive efficiency, I think we could tolerate him getting beaten on defense occasionally.

Disagree. I hadn't seen him shoot the ball like that last night. All his buckets were offensive putbacks or easy buckets near the rim.

he reminded me a lot of weezy tonight, popping out for those 3's. imo if im ccm, im busting his butt on learning the D in practice, because if his actual game is him being able to hit that 3 that could be a nice addition.

with that said, as long as kenny is suspended he will continue to get some minutes. yemi is just bad imo at this point, he cant do anything offensively, if he gets the ball posted up it's either a walk or he's falling out of bound or throwing it away. he also gets lost on defense pretty regularly as well, so id expect to see miller get his chances atleast until hall returns, if he does.

Well aren't putbacks offense? Even better, they are offense AND rebounding. You said he had brought nothing offensively. I don't understand that. If you meant to say perimeter offense, I would agree. I don't think anyone could foresee him as a perimeter threat, but I think 22 points in 44 minutes speaks volumes. Perhaps if we had seen him more, we would know more about him.

And I'm sure there is a reason he's not playing.

If he continues to play like this, fantastic. Just don't believe he well.

And yes, putbacks are offense, but I was talking more about offensive skill in terms of post moves, shooting, driving, etc.

Obviously, there is a reason he isn't playing, but I don't think its his offense. He plays at a deep position and as we have stated, his defense is lagging behind. Perhaps his practice habits need work too, although having heard him in interviews, I don't see him as the lazy type. I think he suffers from playing at a position that is deeper than what we thought it would be before the season.

Before the game, I didn't see anything offensively from him. He shoots like that, then we got something.

13 pts and 7 rebs (all in the 1st half) against COC.
8 pts and 4 rebs against Memphis in Maui.
4 pts and 2 rebs against Pitt.
7 pts and 6 rebs against Louisiana-Monroe.
and
10 pts and 7 rebs tonight against Ole Miss.

Those are the five games that he saw the most playing time in (double digit minutes). I don't think its an accident that he is averaging 8.5 ppg and 5 rpg on 19-29 shooting (65.5%) when he receives significant playing time. We can agree to disagree I guess, but I think its obvious that the offense is not keeping him off the court.

Not confused at all. With his mid range shots tonight and his three pointers I wonder why we haven't been playing him at the three.

Can Miller handle the ball that well? I haven't seen anything that indicates that he has the ball handling skills necessary to play a wing.

I think the problem with Miller is he is an enigma. No one has seen enough of him to know what he can and can't do in all honesty.

I think the poster means Tennessee already has a great three man rotation in the post with Stokes, Maymon and Hall, if he returns. I don't think he was referring to Miller actually playing the three spot.

This is the question I have, no one one the team is registering one point for every 30 seconds he plays. Play him at the 3.

Yes I meant him playing the 3, with what we saw tonight and what we saw in the Pitt game apparently we have overlooked something.

While I would like to see more of Miller and see what he can do. I see nothing in his game that indicates he can play SF. If he can consistently knock down shots, he gives UT a good 3 man rotation in the post and that's what's needed with Hall suspended.

What we need is production at the three to help take some of the heat off Golden and our post players.
