Hey Westie. Is this your new home, seeing that you were banned from Volchat? I have a feeling we will find a way to survive without Gandy. Ligon or someone else will fill in just fine. Get use to alot of BS coming from westsidedawg, boys. He got so bad on Volchat that he had to be banned.

yeah westie come on man. you cant rip the man just because he is playing basketball. At least he didn't get busted with drugs or get thrown into prison or anything like that. He is just playing basketball. at least he is active and not sitting inside eating chesse puffs. And we are not doomed without him. we will survive. are we forgetting that fulmer is an offensive lineman and that we always have a good offesive line. We will be fine. dont worry about that.

I'm telling you bro, its useless to argue with Westie. We had to kick him off Volchat. I don't know if he'll pull the same stunt over or not, but he acted like a diehard UGA fan on Volchat. He always praised UGA, everything about them. He talked about UGA in a positive way all the time and negative in nature about UT 85-90% of the time. It was ridiculous. I don't know if he does it just to get on peoples nerves or if he is just plain weird.

The O-line will be fine. Eric Young was a RS Fr last year and he has all the tools to be a very good player. The staff is sky high on Ramon Foster. They also like Ligon a lot and they think he can and will get the job done. Hes already written off Anthony Parker he has a lot of potential. Josh McNeil will be working very hard in the off-season due to the fact that he knows we lost our top 2 Centers from last and that Gany has went down. There is a long time between now and the season and he has no clue as to how things will work out. To say we are doomed is ridiculous to say the least. Its need to worry about his Dawgs O-Line that was whipped last year by the Tennessee D-line. Don't let this idiot get to you, we're gonna be fine next year.

I'm sure the poor kid feels horrible, but the fact is that it was a freak injury.

yeah, that's very true....At least he wasn't up getting a midnight snack or anything  no I'm kidding, I shouldn't joke about it...The loss will hurt us but I believe we'll be fine

I for one, hope Gandy will make a 100% recovery whether he plays football for the Vols or not.

Get well soon Gandy!

Orange Wizard I think you have me confused with someone else. Either that or you are just a pot stirrer and I have no use for that. So let's discontinue the slander.

Now, let's get back to Gandy and I think I have a way to look at this. Let's suppose that Ainge was playing baseball and injured himself.......everybody would be ripping him for playing two sports. Is that not correct. Don't say that some coaches have told certain players not to play another sport. It is the same thing with Gandy. I have heard of baseball players who have been told to quit playing flag football. Heck, the Atlanta Braves told Ron Gant to quit driving his motorcycle. Fulmer needs to do the same with these big OL who are risking too much by playing BB.

No, that is incorrect. Injuries are a part of sports, and a part of life in general. You won't see me making bonehead statements like you have, ripping a kid because he got hurt doing something not out of the ordinary.

He was having fun with friends and/or teammates. Its probably a good thing he was playing basketball to help him keep in shape in the offseason. Injuries are apart of sports wether its a pick up game or a division I football game. It was unfortunate that he got hurt but you don't have to condem him as a bad teammate for it.

If you say I've got you confused with someone else, then I guess I'll just have to take your word for it. But, you do have the same name as the poster I am talking about and your posts here have started to resemble those of westsidevol's on the Volchat board.

As far as Gandy goes, I have no problem with these guys playing flag football or pickup basketball. They're students as well and should be able to enjoy the overall experience of being in college. What should we expect of them? To just sit around and read books or play video games when they're not playing football or training for the season? Athletes at Tennessee have BEEN doing this for a long time and its rare that a serious injury like this. Stuff happens, its unfortunate, but it happens. This isn't the pros, these players make multi-millions for these Universitys and they should not be held prisoner. They want to have fun with their boys. I think you need to get off their backs a little.

Perhaps it's the same bait tactics (Such as: We're Doomed Because we lost a backup offensive lineman) that westsidevol from Vol Chat was using that made him think you're one in the same.

If indeed you are the same poster who was banned from Vol Chat, people will find soon enough that you are not a Vol, but a Georgia fan who enjoys stirring up negative conversation among true Vol fans.

So, if you're the same guy, you won't last long here.

If you're not the same Georgia fan who created endless trouble at Vol Chat, then welcome to the board.

Perhaps you'll find that most fans here don't believe our season hinges on a single player, especially one who wasn't even a starter yet.

Well said OldVol. :good: I think CPF proved last season he can plug players into the OL and be very successful. Ligon and Cameron Mayo will have a chance to shine in the spring.

Heck, the Atlanta Braves told Ron Gant to quit driving his motorcycle.

Professional players would be a whole different story. They are paid to step on the field and can be told by their paying bosses not to engage in other activities that could be of risk. This changes the outlook of responsibility by staying healthy and preventing a non football related injury. Even then it's a very touchy subject.

its not that bad guys. we are not doomed for sure.

he is on offensive lineman. we have all americans on the bench.

so let me get this right, our season is over because we lose one o-lineman, give me a break.

I think the O-line will be fine. Surely between Ligon, Mayo and McNeil a quality center will emerge. Don't count McNeil out. If he is intelligent and learns quickly who knows he may have beaten Gandy out anyway. As for Gandy, just like previous posters have stated alot of football players take part in risky activities in the offseason. Do we want these guys to sit on their cans in the offseason? You don't want to see them out skydiving or anything X-treme but you don't want them afraid to go out of their dorm room either. His career might not be over just yet though. He could apply for a 6th year.
