So the Vols aren't going to a bowl game...

Neither are:

Penn St.
Ohio St.
Auburn
Miami (FL)
Arkansas

So let the country enjoy:

Utah St. vs Toledo
UCF vs Bowling Green
Arkansas St. Vs Central Michigan
No. Illinois vs Western Michigan
Kent St vs MTSU
La. Monroe vs Ball St.

We'll be back soon!

GBO!
Gruden Be Orange!

Sadly we would probably lose to each of them

Maybe just the opposite. These teams are not SEC material. We could hang w/these teams with no problem as long as our team plays like they are all on the same page & wanting to win. :hi:

Oxymoron? I agree with you but it is pretty sad to have to make that statement.

We also won't be getting our 800th win this year either. Coming into this year I didn't think there was anyway we wouldn't get 6 wins to reach 800.

I grossly underestimated Dooleys incompetence.

Don't be a douche. CDD did a lot to sustain our program for the next coach that can actually coach. Given the circumstances he was a good setup man for our next coach and is a VFL in spite of his on the field failures. CDD is a class act.

Dooley's tenure here was bad...very, very bad. There seems to be a concensus on here that we're just not going to talk about it anymore. That is FINE by me, but you can't grill someone for raggin' on dooley. Some folks are gonna have resentment for dooley for a long time. Some people on here literally seem to be getting off on taking the high road. He's a good man, that doesn't mean he was a good coach.

how is that a logical comparison as I am sure, Penn State and Ohio State are banned from bowl eligibility.

I never once said he was a good coach. He was a good recruiter and took our talent level from rock bottom to pretty darn good. He also embraced tradition and most importantly mentored our players on a personal level of which many have stated. He didn't do well as an SEC coach but he accomplished a lot in terms of rebuilding and building character in our team.

In short, the next coach will be handed the keys to a freshly washed waxed and ready to go Porsche...a coach that can actually drive it.
