s- hits the fan every couple of years. the dotcom bust, savings and loan crisis, russian debt crisis, inflation at 10% in the early 80s, airlines going bancrupt, etc etc. this crisis is no worse than any other. it will pass and the economy will move on.

Word is there are a couple of airlines that could go under by the end of this summer or early fall. What do think Dro.

it's amazing that so many have survived already. airline ticket prices are slightly down over the past few years with fuel prices up 400%. all these airlines will go under eventually if it stays this way.

from what I've heard you can probably count on two by the end of summer. That should be a pretty large hit for the economy though right?

i wouldn't think so. most will continue operations despite going bankrupt so there shouldn't be much in the way of loss of jobs and the stocks aren't really worth much already. another bank going under would be a much bigger problem.
