This bama loss could prove costly. We have lost 9 games, and still have to play kentucky twice, florida (AWAY), and georgia, plus south carolina twice, miss. state once or twice, and vandy (away). We can't afford to lose many more games--and yet we are probably going to lose AT LEAST two more, and could lose upwards of four. How many SEC teams will get in the dance--three, maybe four? We don't win at least one of our three games against florida and kentucky, and we could have a problem. Right now, we are probably in as a low seed, but losing yesterday at home was not good. :eek:k:

To me the ark game might have been the dagger. 5 wins will be tough with the remaining schedule. Gotta keep the faith, we've been here before.

Such a shame. Talented team.

How will the expanded tournament affect our "bubble" status I wonder?

We might do better as a bubble team if we get in. We seem to beat the best teams and roll over for the miserable ones.

See: UConn, LSU, Auburn

I know we had success against talented teams early in the year, but you won't find me hoping for a 15-seed.

we wont make it, im afraid. everyone keeps saying we will be alright when Pearl gets back. but look at our losses when he was coaching. lets face it, this isnt our year. there is something wrong with this team, chemistry? i dont know what. i know we have 2 good quality wins, but we have some awful losses.

We only have 8 losses. If we can get to 9-7 in the SEC we should be in with the number 1 SOS. Probably need a win in the SEC tournament. It may be best for us to not get a first round bye so we can play a first round game vs the SEC West.

IF we get in, it's going to be because of our SOS and RPI. But I wouldn't be surprised if this team wins the SEC tournament...or be put out in the first round. Frustrating.

The pair of Big East wins will be our saving grace if we finish 8-8 in SEC play. It would take an epic collapse at this point for UT to miss a 68-team field.

It's not even close right now. Tennessee's resume is just too good right now to get rejected.

One would be have a very negative attitude :loco:to think we will be a bubble team at 8-8 in the sec with litle change in the RPI or SOS.

We've lost (at home) to the best teams we've played in the SEC.

We have no business losing at home to anyone in the SEC this year. Anyone period. This team has yet to lose to a team that's better than them.

We have 15 wins right now. If we win half the remaining games we will make it in. No way a 19 win team that is 16th in RPI and has #1 SOS doesn't make it in.

i'm happy all of you that think we're going to the nit are so bright. i wish i could predict the future like that !! this team wil go to the ncaa tournament, if we finish 9-7 in the league. # 1 schedule strength, 15 in rpi, etc. i really believe will duplicate what we did in the first half. that would be 5-3 also. oh, there i go predicting the future !!

Guys we lost to Bama without our best player. He would have neutralized Mitchell and provided a slashing threat/another scorer we needed. Hopefully we can play them again in the SEC tournament and show them the real Tennessee (with Bruce Pearl and Hopson). Our record is also 15-8, not sure where you decided to say we have 9 losses, unless you automatically included UK. I say next week we lose to UK, then beat UF with Hopson back. If Hopson's still hurt they may want to hold him out until the UF game.

So apparently stating one's opinion of how things will turn out is predicting the future.....interesting.
