We did not want

That is totally untrue. We wanted him, but as soon as LSU offered, that was it. He committed to LSU. He camped at UT. I believe that UT offered him at camp not sure. He was the dominate DB at UT Camp. Kiffin posted video on youtube of the camp, which I believe was against NCAA rules so they had to remove it from youtube.

nope.UT did not offer

They said on TV that he wanted to go to either Tennessee or Alabama and neither would offer. So LSU told him to come there. Did't know the story just wandered why you would turn a player like that down.

He was shooting for an LSU offer. As soon as he got it he was done with his recruitment.

Makes a lot of since (sense), but I doubt that UT turned down someone they knew was talented enough. Some just slip through the cracks sometimes.
And it shouldn't. If we have people that get paid to SCOUT PLAYERS they should NOT slip through the cracks. That's their job.
Someone should get fired just for Honey Badger not coming to UT thanks to that moron, whoever that is.

Idk he must of shown something that the coaches didn't like. Everyone messes up sometime. I mean there is only a million kids playing football to watch.

No they didn't. They said he camped at both places. He never said he would commit to UT or Alabama if they offered - he was waiting on an LSU offer and never would have come here.

I keep hearing he isn't that good... so I would say it was a good move by the Vols.

He was getting virtually no offers, he went to several camps looking for a large school offer, LSU was the only taker.

And? He still was going to LSU no matter how many large schools offered. Tennessee likely would've offered eventually though.

You have no idea what he would have done, nobody was offering he was a NR on all the scouting agencies charts.... he was looking for an offer, even LSU past until he came in to camp.

That is why he was going to camps.

They just said that Tyrann Mattieu wanted to come to Tennessee or Alabama and neither wanted him. And we did not want Randell Cobb. Makes since why we are in the mess we have been in. Two kids like that want to play for Tennessee and we tell them no.:eek:k:

How do I have no idea? It was his dream offer. You don't turn that down.
