We gonna get beat very soon

I'm not going to jump on the Razorfags bandwagon. They got lucky against AU, pure and simple. We'll concentrate on the run and shut it down, like we did against GA. Then the game will be on the shoulders of Mustain, and he will collapse under the pressure, much like Tereshinski did. Our offense will put up more than enough points to bury AR. We definitely can't overlook the Razorfags, and as long as our players don't, we'll be fine.

I don't see how anyone could call what the hogs did as luck. They ran it down their throat and whipped them on both lines. That is not luck!

Those who think ark is no good or just average haven't been watching that team. McFadden is the best back in the SEC and it is not even close. In fact I rank him second in the nation to A. Peterson. Then you have Felix Jones who is actually quicker than DM. Throw in Peyton Hillis who is really a full back but quicker and has great hands and is a really good blocker along with Marcus Monk a 6'6" WR with good hands and a TE that I can't remember his name but is really good along with a pretty solid D and they are a force. The issue with them is that it took them a while to gel. Against USC they were in the game until late 2nd half and turned the ball over 5 or 6 times. That is why early on I picked them to do really well this year.

That Arkansas team must stay healthy for five more weeks before playing us as well. It's not like they are swimming in depth.[yes, I know that the same holds true for us.]

I've been worried about the Arkansas game since before the season. Still, we really have no clue how we're going to match up until we get closer to the game....

They are deeper in most positions than us as far as players with experience goes.

I think we stop the run and put serious pressure on Mustain and hold on to the ball and we win.

that' sounds familiar...yep..that's it. trade Mustain for Tereshinski/Stafford/Cox and it's the recipie for the UGA gameplan too.

and i wouldn't exactly say we "stopped" the run.

We've got two games before the Ark game...i'd rather worry about that game when i have to. too busy worrying about Bama for two weeks right now.:p

If we can pull that off it's a good recipe. Our being thin and young at DT is really going to make it tougher for us against LSU and ARK who are pretty physical.

The one thing that helps us against ARK is that they are more or less one dimensional. But the thing that makes it hard is that they can run it, our special teams are atrocious, and if our passing game has an off day in the cold.

NUTT makes me nervous also. He is pretty crafty when he's got a chance at an upset.

Your right. I should have stated to slow down the run. #5 for Ark is a much better back than UGA has.

I don't think they are one dimensional. I know Mustain is young and if we disquise our package we can get a couple of picks. But that kid can throw the deep rout very well. We need to make him uncomfortable and have to force some throws. LSU is a good team that I can't figure out. I think they are probably the most talented team in the SEC. But for what ever reason they seem to trip themselves a lot. Sounds very familiar don't it?

yeah, i agree...and i don't know that McFadden is better or worse than Lumpkin and Co., but it cant be overlooked what Felix is able to do with Mcfadden...

the key for us is to get our O on the feild as much as possible. we don't have to be great on D, but when, in the future, we get teams in 3rd and long, we can't afford to keep giving those up...

those long 3rd down conversions in the 1st half against UGA were disheartening to me. To only force 1 punt the entire game, well, i don't have to say it, but that can't happen a whole lot.

Good post, but I want to hear more about how T. Henry C-blocked you

Ive just been waiting for someone to ask. Its my favorite encounter with a Vols player.

It was 2000, after the Kentucky game (early game, really cold, so I had been drinking like a fish all day). I had just finished going to this bar out in west knoxville with this girl I really liked. It was around 3 or 4 am, and we had the drunk munchies. We went to the waffle house near that Bp that is parallel to I-40.

For anyone that hasnt been to that waffle house on a saturday night...its crazy packed. They have a couple cops there because its nothing but drunk people, to which I was really drunk. You have to wait for a table to open because its so crowded.

Anyways, after waiting a good bit, we finally get to sit down. We eat, and after our meal I ask if she wants dessert. She orders coffee, and I read this as a good sign...she wants to hang out even though its really late. Im pumped and I think Im getting some.

WELL...this big stocky black guy walks up to my table with three hot girls (surprise). I pay no attention until he interupts my conversation with my date..."you done with this table?". I know he thinks so because the only thing on the table is her coffee cup, but still, wth. I dont look him in the eye because Im a wus but I say in my meanest dont-hurt-me voice "no". Things go down hill fast. The black guy doesnt budge...he just STARES at me the entire time. I can barely talk to my friend, and I can tell she is uneasy too. He speaks again "you done yet?" and I say "almost". A minute later I say "lets just get out of here" so my friend and I get up. Without saying anything to him, he says "thank you sir" and i just nod my head, really upset.

We get outside and my friend goes "that was Travis Henry!". I said "really?????? F@@k! I would have bought his meal, but I didnt want to look him in the eye!" "Man, I should have known it was him, with all the women!"

Her: "Yeah, it was...next time stand up for your date. Bye". She drives off and I never take her out solo again.

Thanks Big Cheese. That season I was also c-blocked by Casey Clausen(!) at a bar called campus pub right behind the mcdonalds on the strip.

Mustain is capable, but when I say one dimensional I'm referring to more of a sustained passing game. But yeah, he can hit us up top if we're not careful. Plus, he'll be a couple of more games mature.

I think LSU's problems are Les Miles and Russell at QB. LSU looks a lot like a poorly coached team to me that makes a lot of errors in important situations. That's the Hallmark Greeting of poorly coached teams, IMO. Russell always makes mistakes when pressed. Sometimes their talent will overcome it, but sometimes not.

That's not really what I expected to hear, but at least he didn't get your girl. He is one ugly mug...good thing he has money.

that's a terrible story...bad luck brother...but it happens. me and a buddy were going to the Lap one night and we were going solo, but we met these two girls in line waiting to get in, and things were off to a good start...but nothing to get worked up about either...anway, Bill Duff and Shane Burton came up....got in way ahead of the line btw...and on the way up, they asked the two girls we were talking to if they wanted to go....never saw them again....nothing gained, nothing lost.:)

We may be more one dimensional than them.

 yep, you just concede to the 6'+, 270lb+ D linemen and say "have fun ladies!"

I don't know Jake. I think you still have to try! I mean you gotta show you have a pair. If someone is taking mine I'm not gonna stand there and :hi:and say have fun? That sounds like a "friend" statement. Come on man!

seeing as how i had just met the two ladies, it hardly seemed worth the effort...:p

i call it evaluating risk. only three things could happen, and two of them are bad:
1. The girls are impressed and decide to continue to wait in line with all us regular folk.
2. The girls shoot me down and continue on up thru the VIP express lane with two guys that will play professional football.
3. The guys get the wrong idea and decide to show the girls why they should go with them and proceed pound me and my buddy in to submission, throw the girls over their shoulders and still walk in, no questions asked.

i stand by my decision.:peace2:
