What team does Bruce have in the tourney?

Weak. Very weak.

I feel bad for Zo. I don't think he's a great coach, but he had us playing great at the end. With our RPI, our SOS, and given how tough we played at the end, I just have to wonder why the selection committee didn't think we deserved to be solidly in.

But your argument is very weak.

Should've been a 1 seed. Maybe even a 3 round bye. Refs hate us, espn hate us, and the selection committee. Unreal!

2 weeks ago vs. Dayton. If we get past Iowa, we will get past Umass. Duke lost in the 1st round to Lehigh so I'm not exactly counting them as our eventual opponent just yet.

Isn't it a bit ironic? All the BBB stuff going on, we make the NCAAT and we're playing the university where Pearl got into his original mess that got him blackballed for a good while?

How did that happen? Remember me saying we needed to stay out of a play in game in another thread! We didn't and the chances of advancing diminished considerably. We play a tough Iowa team in Ohio two days before we play the 6 seed UMass. Then we travel to Raleigh while UMass is already preparing for Tennessee. We have no time to prepare for them before we play. They get to watch us play Iowa while we see nothing. And guess what, if we won those two, we play the winner of Duke and Mercer, the team that beat us in the NIT in Knoxville. Putting those other teams ahead of us was a joke. When they showed the last four in, our SOS was 42, the others in the 50's. Just looked out of place. We got no respect at all!

I actually thought we were placed in a pretty good bracket.... Not crazy about facing Iowa in in the "play in game", but there are a lot tougher brackets than the one we were placed in...JMO though...

First game in Dayton on Wednesday at 9:10 pm on TruTV. I believe it is channel 242 on Dish. If we go on to play Duke it will be on Sunday in Raleigh--practically a home game for them.

Duke and UNC just about always seem to play early round NCAA games in the state of North Carolina--hence if we get thru the gauntlet set up for us by the ABSOLUTELY UNBIASED selection committee, we get to play the dookies in their backyard. No more unfair than Pat Adams (may that name live in infamy forever) teeing up Maymon. The SEC HAD to ensure success for Little Billy's golden boys.

If we lose the play-in game, is that considered one-and-done or is it more like none-and-done?

Was reading on the Hawkeye site and saw where their coach chastised a reporter for calling it a play-in game. Said it was a first round legitimate NCAA tournament game and not to call it otherwise.

It still feels like a slap in the face to me though. Iowa finished 6th in the Big 10 and has lost 6 of its last 7, including its 1st round Big 10 tournament game to #11 seed Northwestern. Iowa's fans are acting surprised they actually got in at all!

A play in game is not making the tournament.... that's why it is called a play in game..you play in it in order to make the tournament.

Was a little disappointed at first, but then really started looking at the bracket. Confidence win against Iowa, close win against UMass, and upset of Duke...........could happen folks if we play the way we did in SEC Tourney. (Much rather have this play in to a 11 seed than being an "in tournament" 16 seed against a # 1).

Sorry to be positive on this board----know it is frowned upon.
