Alright everybody, tough lose tonite. I was shocked and it sucked really bad, but ive calmed down and realized it still can be all good. I'm looking at the cup as half full. Yes our running game was horrible and yes our oline was horrible, but in the insanely rough and tough SEC, Florida will most like lose atleast 2 more SEC games. If we can upset UGA, which may look like a big IF right now, everything will turn out alright. At the worst if we win out we'll end up in a 3 way tie atop the SEC east and we can still make the SECCG.

I may be crazy but im just hoping we stlil have a shot at the SECCG.

I will be heart broken and will feel this lose until we play Georgia.

you cannot win in the SEC with no running game. period. it doesn't look good right now.

Its an uphill battle to win the SEC after losing to Florida, you need a lot of help. Obviously everyone is very disappointed. Too bad this game isnt at the end of the year instead of the beginning.

also, you shouldn't have really been shocked at this loss. florida was the better team. i thought tennessee could win simply because it was at neyland, but that was flawed thinking...neyland isn't the same place it used to be.

none the less we gotta respect the fact that ours guy fought out there.

Also we got another team in the west that is feeling the same right now, LSU.

I was mostly shocked because we had a 10 point lead, we were stopin ther offense and it didnt seem like they could stop our passing game, but having a running game is more important.

lsu played very well on the road and at least had a chance to win at the very end. tennessee, on the other hand, had 2 yards rushing, had their quarterback doing the gator chomp on the sidelines during the 3rd quarter, and furthered the notion that fulmer cannot win big games even at home.

We had a chance to win at the end. This is ridiculous. How did the LSU game turn out last year? I guess that wasn't a big game. As for the Vols not having an edge since 1998, I'd say a 4th place finish in 2001 was a pretty good year.

this is a Fulmer team, you have to look at the glass half empty.
That's a horribly stupid attitude. This is the same team that has been in the SECCG twice since that '98 run... this is the same team that routed Meeeechigan and A&M in big bowl games. Take the loss and be upset, but dear lord, don't be such a downer.

it's probably better it's at the beginning. i know we have to play LSU, UGA, Bama, etc. but having the game early still gives the losing team a chance to win the conference.

we couldnt run, but then again we didnt really have to since we were up almos the whole game. Dont get me wrong it woulda helped a lot if we could have ran the ball in the 2nd half and had a long drive that took a lot of time of the clock by running it, but we were having success throwing the ball for the 1st 3 quarters.

and the only difference from us talking about another crappy season and us talking about the SECCG is 1 point.

How is that different from what we did? We were 1 pass completion away from FG range at the end of the game.

Yea, 1st and 10 on what was it their 40 yard line with about 2:30 to play only down 1 with a chance to win, who wouldnt want to be in that situation in a big game?

um...the game ended with florida taking a knee to run the clock out. we didn't get the ball back...florida got a first down after we failed to convert.

Wrong! We threw an interception. Had we managed to move the ball on that play we may have been in Wilhoit's range. We might have won. You act like the game was over heading into the 4th quarter. Our final drive came close to giving us an opportunity to win it, but it fell a little short. It was still a good final effort. Maybe LSU was a little closer, but hardly any game is that close. So LSU had the ball when the clock ran out. Big freaking deal. There was a one minute differential between their final drive and ours.

we didnt drive down into field goal range. the offensive line couldnt protect and Ainge got called for intentional grounding. It was 2nd and 24, 3rd and 16, 4th and 16.

What yardline were we on when we had a 1st and 10 and then got that big intential grounding/sack. I thought we were around the 40, if so just 10 more yards in our favor would have most likely changed the outcome.

The crowd sure was loud and fired up.

No lie . . . Saying Neyland isn't what it used to be after tonight is just critcizing for the sake of criticizing. It was as hostile an environment as it gets.

BUT IT DIDNT HAPPEN!

If it's as easy as you make it sound, why didnt it happen?
