If they win out, they're likely in the playoffs.

Why would they get the nod over Michigan (if Michigan beats Ohio State)? That doesn't make any sense. Michigan would have a better record and they beat Penn State 49-10. Penn State won't be in the playoff.

I think this is being considered under the hypothetical scenario where ohio state beats michigan.

Penn State wins division.

Penn State wins conference.

etc, etc, etc

Ohio State would still make the playoffs IYAM even if Penn State goes to the Big 10 title game

I'll get tarred and feathered for this, but this is where you prove your strength as a conference IMO.

Michigan and Ohio State have been/are considered by many to be national title contenders and neither of them (who are in the same division) may actually play for the Big 10 title.

Franklin was a miracle worker at Vandy. He's a suitable replacement for Butch, which is something that is inevitable.

Yep the B10 divisions are set up pretty bad -- i would also bet Wisconsin would beat PSU in the title game if it happens

It's probably a good idea to wait until after bowl season for this type of talk. As much as Tennessee has struggled, if they were to draw another middle of the road Big 10 team in a Florida bowl game again, like say Minnesota or Iowa, I would expect us to come away looking like world beaters... for the third year in a row. I think that could probably be said for other SEC teams as well.
