I wish to acknowledge what a class act Josh Heupel is.

Tennessee, at this point, will have realistic aspirations of reaching the playoffs this season and to assist this goal it may require him to "run up the score" on occasions. Well despite a very impressive 49-13 win on Saturday, he benched almost the whole first team when he could have easily broken the 60 point barrier and thus made an early "statement" to the college world.

But our coach understood that given what an horrendous time Virginia have endured this last year, a 60 point thrashing was the last thing they needed and the "pedal was no longer pushed to the metal".

Good luck Virginia for the rest of the season and thank you Josh for realizing that winning isn't everything.

Yessir, LV! UVA will likely have a respectable season after the smoke clears from this thrashing. CJH is the total package for Tennessee.

He is right!!!
That is not the point. The comment could have been left off this thread. Either post to the intent of the thread, or post your comment somewhere else. It is absolutely not required that every thread be riddled with sarcasm and cynicism. If you don't think our Head Coach has and shows class, so be it. The way UT handled that situation all the around was very nice. At least show some decorum toward the OP.

Would have EASILY hung 60 on UVA if it weren’t for those “1st game jitters” that stalled 3 series in the 1st half.

”Class” had NOTHING to do with it…nor should it.

Dude, you've been on here long enough to know that sarcasm and cynicism is an every thread requirement. It's what we do 😄

It has little to do with class and everything to do with getting backups ready to play

Partly, but the class showed through with the play calls for the second team. Nico woulda benefited from throwing the ball more. But CJH was content to dial it back.

He usually doesn’t do that. But, I’m thankful that he did in this one.

Had we scored then, the dogs would have simply been called off earlier. The starters would have been pulled for the entire second half. You know, it is possible to win with class. Still dominate the other team, but depending on the situation do what you want. If you don't like someone seeing class in our head coach, then I feel for the hole in your soul.

Y’all think what you’d like but only CJH knows.

Posts that make blanket assumptions, either positive or negative, are gonna get destroyed on here. Y’all should know by now.
I would rather be destroyed for having a positive outlook, than spend my life needing something negative to make it through the day. It is sad that your statement is true for some of you.

No you take a positive statement and interject your feelings. The intent of the thread was to detail how the OP performed an act showing his class and decorum. You decided to add your feelings that class is not important at all. I think that may speak to a flaw somewhere.

Thought that was cross-referenced with blue font. This poster was neither cynical or sarcastic. Just wanted to state the obvious that had nothing to do with thread subject.

Agreed-the job of the coach is to get his backups experience not help a team cope with tragedy. I do think he’s a decent guy, but he’s hired to coach and only coach. He made his nice gesture to their suffering with the stickers worn in support by our team and his statements surrounding that.
