I am confident in saying that Brett Smith has emerged tremendously at WR ,and now it is safe to say that we have the best Wr trio in the nation.

1. Robert Meachem :dance2:

1. Jayson Swain :dance2:

1. Brett Smith :dance2:

All are #1's because they all get the job done as a unit !
That said, I think LSU may have the best pass defense in the country.Possibly the best defense.Of course this can be misldeading based on their schedule and also read somewhere their qb has won 1 out of 5/6 games vs top 10 teams.

Hard to argue that fact
I'll argue it a little bit. LSU's three top receivers are pretty good, too.

UT's Meachem leads the SEC in yards and receptions for sure, but LSU's Davis and Bowe have more receptions and receiving yards than Smith and Swain, while LSU's Doucet has more receptions than Swain and more yards than Smith.

Just going by the numbers...

Meachem/Swain/Smith have combined for 104 receptions, 1671 yards, and 15 TDs.

Southern Cal's trio of Jarrett/Smith/Turner have 95 receptions, 1216 yards, and 12 TDs.
LSU's trio of Bowe/Davis/Doucet have 107 receptions, 1618 yards, and 13 TDs.

Southern Cal ain't even in the picture.

So you are saying if you take away our best guy you're better?

Nope. I'm just saying that Tennessee having the top receiver is clear, but having the top three is subject to dispute. LSU's three have more receptions.

LSU is #5 in pass defense, but best in the SEC. LSU is #1 in total defense and #2 in scoring defense after Ohio State.

The schedule is unusual with home games against unranked teams and road games against top-10 teams. But Tennessee's #70 strength-of schedule is almost as unimpressive as LSU's.

read somewhere their qb has won 1 out of 5/6 games vs top 10 teams.
I don't know about 2004, he split time with Randall. Russell won against Alabama and Auburn last year and lost against Tennessee and Georgia, that would be 2 out of 4. His backup Flynn won against Miami. What is Ainge's record against top-10 teams?

Jokes? What jokes? I'm simply illuminating the Truth of O.

Chuck Norris scares everything else away simply to create the void of space so he can run from Coach O.

(Thanks for letting me pile on the bandwagon for a post there):hi:

.
Before last weekend's games, South Carolina had the #1 pass defense in the SEC

But Tennessee's #70 strength-of schedule is almost as unimpressive as LSU's.

This must be another basketball stat. According to the NCAA's football stats Tennessee has played the 10th hardest schedule and Sagarin has Tennessee's schedule ranked 15th toughest.

Now if we just had our normal running game we'd be in major contention. Foster, Hardesty, and Coker just aren't up to our normal expectations. Foster and Hardesty show flashes but seem a tad "brittle":lolabove:

Ted Ginn is not that good of a reciever. He is a home run threat that, but Gonzalez is a better possession reciever than him.
