We have the toughest road in more than one way

Considering logistics and fan support we have the toughest road of any CFP team.

If we win the first game there will be only ~ 9 days for UT fans to make arrangements to travel to Pasadena. Because of geography the Rose Bowl will be a home game for Oregon by overwhelming margin.

If SMU wins they'll have to travel from Dallas to Phoenix but that's a piece of cake compared to Knoxville to LA.

Indiana fans can drive to New Orleans in one day.

And if Clemson wins their first game they'll essentially be home (Atlanta) for their second game.

This game will be a battle of top 10 defenses with Ohio State at 1 and Tennessee at 8.

I agree! Driving through Cincinnati can be a great big pain in the butt.

You could also fly into John Wayne/Orange county or Long Beach. both of those are further away. I believe only Southwest flies into Long Beach.

If you are getting a rental car anyway -and in the LA area that would almost be a necessity, Vegas could also be feasible.

To the eastern part of LA (Pasadena) it's about a 3 hour drive. Honestly, at this point a 3 hour high speed drive through the desert is almost preferable to spending 90 minutes sitting in traffic trying to to get across LA at 20 mph from LAX or Orange County.

I loved the debauchery of LA when I was a younger lad, but honestly these days I try to avoid the city proper whenever possible

If you intended to stay in the Pasadena area and weren't interested in all the other crap around LA, it would be very doable. Side benefit of picking up a day or two in Vegas.

I can only hope we get to worry about traveling to Pasadena.

Omg that is a tough stretch -
@ Ohio St
@ Rose Bowl, Oregon advantage
@ dallas, Texas advantage
@ atlanta, UGA advantage

We have almost 4 road games vs #1, #2, #5 and #6. Well wth lets go win this thing! May be recognized as the most dominant performance in college football history when we pull it off!
If we can stay healthy and somehow the seniors don't play scared and if Sampson is good then let's go.

I agree because I think OSU (Buckeye fan) would have the hardest path if y’all were hosting this game.

Just two comments- Ohio State tickets are available tonight on Seatgeek and other secondary sites, starting around $375. Not too bad.

Southwest flights from Nashville to Pasadena were filling up like crazy Saturday when we and our crew booked ours. Make your refundable flight arrangements now- plenty of hotels in the LA area if the Vols get there!

I really don’t think Georgia would have an advantage in Atlanta. It’s the closest possible site for Vol fans, who are starving for a title. I doubt we make it that far, but if we did, I’d bet we have more fans there than Georgia. They’ve been to 3 title games in the past 8 seasons and won 2. They aren’t starving for a title like we are. It’s a 4 hour or less drive for the majority of Vol fans. It’s a 30 minute flight.

I'm not too concerned about our path. I think the Big 10, as usual, is overrated. It stinks we have to go on the road, but if we want to win a National Champinship we have to overcome our road woes. It seems fitting.

I don't think it would be fitting for any team to have to play all four games "away".
