Not even close.

We likely won't play for it again in my lifetime

It was 50 years from our last to the previous

and we were one half of football away from playing for another 3 years after that one. We will be in the conversation again

Being in the conversation and actually playing is another thing completely

The thing is, its been 15, soon to be 16, years that we haven't played in the NC game. We are already over a quarter of the way to 50

Realistically, it will be another 5 years before we hear talk of Tennessee in the NC

We still have to plow through a tougher SEC than in 1998

So if we're partying in the next three years...don't invite the Doubting Thomas vampire?

How about this--I wish AU had won so that when we get there and win, we could continue the streak.

So they can be the SEC team to break the winning streak. So when UT gets back to the National title game, we won't be the ones.......

If UT is the team that happens to can you freaking imagine the meltdown and shame????

I have been looking at this Thread Title for two days. I'm sorry I couldn't keep from opening it up and looking at why Auburn needs(needed) to lose.

Since they did, wow what a relief we should all have that the latest SEC streat has ended and Tennessee wasn't the team to break it.

But hey let's be real what if it takes Butch 4 years to get Tennessee to the National Championship game. I guess if the SEC wins the next 3 and Tennessee were to lose in this 4th year it wouldn't be as bad only ending a 3 year streat.

Me personally I would love to see the SEC win every year for the next 100 years. And I would hate to see Tennessee lose a national championship game anytime.
