I am concerned about Milton's throws behind receivers and too high. But, I don't remember UT throwing the deep ball more than once all season. Call me crazy. I think UT will be able to connect on a lot of deep routes vs FL this Saturday. I think Halzle and HEUPEL have been saving the deep throw calls for this game!!! I think the UT passing game will be at least 300 and the ground game at least 200. UT gets it done in the swamp! Vols by 10, 34-24! The only reason UF scores 24 is due to Milton finally throwing one pick to give them good field position and one TD.

That may be true but why try to hide it? Anybody that has watched our offense under Heupel knows we need the deep ball for this offense to be successful. It's no mystery. But I have wondered why we haven't thrown deep. Milton connected on numerous deep plays last year. I'm also wondering if they have been saving Seldon? Possibly have a package for him with his speed. Maybe they are saving it, but guess we will see Sat. We don't beat Ala, Fla, Pitt, Clemson etc without the numerous deep passes we hit on.

Milton isn’t going to get more accurate. Sometimes the simplest explanation is the best explanation. We aren’t throwing downfield because when we have it’s been totally inept. Whether he’s throwing inaccurately or too hard they are incomplete.

They started by throwing intermediate against APSU and then backed off when they couldn’t complete anything.

It’s a function of performance. You could run simple route concepts to get him reps and not show the playbook. They aren’t doing that.

I feel like they are trying to set up deep shots off the WR screens for Florida. I think Huepel has been vanilla these first 2 weeks but I'm not sure I'm very confident in the line holding up long enough to give Milton time or Milton hitting those regularly. If Joe can hit one or two early it's going to be a on, if not its going to be a long night. We have 2 blazing WR's in Thorton and White, completely baffled why we haven't seen deep shots to those 2. Milton and White have chemistry. One of 2 things imo, Huepel has zero confidence in Milton or he has been holding back on the deep ball. I believe he has been holding back, we find out Saturday night.

You don’t think Florida has film of Tennessee. I’m over the “we haven’t shown the playbook”, yes we have, everyone has.

It really is the dumbest thing. Maybe we’re going to come out in the wing-t when we pull out our “real playbook” and not the playbook we use to struggle against fcs teams.

Maybe, but, can you name one deep ball besides the one Keyton dropped vs UVA?

The. Deep. Shot. Isn’t. There. Anymore.

Teams are playing back and until Joe can hit those slants across the middle we will be seeing more screens. It is what it is.
Maybe! But, I hope I am right and UT hits lots of deep routes in 6 days! We will know much more in SEC play!

Yeah, it will come as a total shock to UF and any other opponent that a Heupel offense throws the deep ball.

IDK, now i defend Joe alot on this board, but We havent thrown Deep balls since Alex Golesh left. We only threw what? 3? in the bowl game? Weird.

I wonder if Florida will try to copy AP and play deep safeties and force Joe to hit the intermediate routes. If he’s able to do that then they will adjust and we’ll be able to take some deep shots
If they have 2 deep safeties lined up 20 yards back, we’re just going to run go routes with 3 receivers and a tight end and force them to play with a 5 man box and run right at them. If we’re successful, the safeties and LBs will eventually cheat up and that’s when you take the deep shot.

I hope you're right. Despite my grievances, I hope Milton and Co. flips a switch and we're dicing up defenses the rest of the year.

I’m worried about the pre-season hype because I don’t think we executed very much. Not good guy’s.
I thought the playcalling Saturday was too confined.
They called plays that would win the game, but our guys are not coming up with big catches downfield.
I'm not sure there were real routes that would qualify as such Saturday Night.

This is a really, really good throw.

WRs need to be better
Joe needs to be better (on other throws - this was perfect)

Good news, they will get better. Heupel will make sure of it IMHO, as he has with every offense he has had.
