I don't think that we were ever a real threat to land Harris. That fact is just now being made official.

I don't know what's up. I can tell you that these off the field problems are definetly taking a heavy toll on our recruiting.

It's one factor, but i'd put it way behind the staff (departures and those who stayed) and getting ripped a new one on national TV a few times.

Yes, underage consumptions and smoking a little pot cause so many recruits to jump ship.

It has never hurt UF's recruiting when they had guys throwing kegs and shooting guns in apartments.

Oklahoma really had a down year when their QB and Center got kicked off for getting paid thousands of dollars for nothing.

Miami had a player get shot and killed, look at where they are in recruiting.

Yep, let me tell you, if only other schools had Tennessee's problems

I would tend to think the off-the-field stuff had more of an effect if kids were cancelling their official visits to UTK in droves the past few weeks. But that has not happened. Most seem to say they liked the visits, just not going to play ball here.

I didn't say that was the only problem, but having these kinds of incidents, in a short amount of time kind of makes it seem like UT has no control over their players. I also believe that the coaching changes played a big role. I would've loved to have landed Harris though

Can't take this recruiting too serious with the rankings. Probably not much differnce between top 10 recruiting classes. 25% will be in jail or get thrown off the team, 50% will be average college football players, 25% will go pro. I'll take a 1* who will bleed for the school on the field before a 5* that wants his picture in the paper.

To get your picture in the paper you have to do something special.

No offense to guys like Roy O, but most of them never took a team to the national championship.

anyone have a source b/c i just read the newest article from rivals 2day and he said nothin but good things about tenn and that he would be at mclains announcment and said that they could possibly pik the same school

I GUARANTEE YOU that the off the field stuff is a huge part of it.
Plus, offensive players dont know anything about Clawson yet.
Defensively, Chavis is doing a terrible job recruiting.

I agree. Harris had a lot of family there with him and that weekend Faison DUI's. It hurts us a lot !
