We need a genuine heart

exacty he had a 74% win average and won the sec 6 or 7 times.. Im not saying hire him back but I am saying we need his style and home town boy ego to be a winner. And if they hire him Im ok with that. Fisher and all of these other guys will only come here if the money is right.. It all about money to those guys.
,
What was his record between 2001 and 2008?

How many SEC Championships?

I also think we need a Tennessee man to take over. I just don't think one is out there right now.
Had Fulmer coached as HC before UT.. Fulmer knew the game ... Tell me Al Wilson or Terry Fair could not coach at UT effectively... certainly right they could

Phil keeps posting under assumed names. Thank you for what you did in the 90's. You put us in ruin in the 2000's.

You have to have a degree and al unfortunately doesn't qualify. No degree.

I can't speak to terry

Hire the best candidate regardless where his heart is and tell jay Graham to prepare to be the next head coach at Tennessee. when the coach leaves we have a coach with a genuine heart in jay graham

His percentages went down in his last years. New coaches had his number. And if he is so good, how come he is still watching football from home.
:lolabove: what are you talking about in 2007 he won the SEC and the outback bowl and won 10 games... He possibly would have won the SEC again and by now maby a NC... I remember a igmo small milk or mike always running down Fulmer and that wtb attitude got us here

Far from any certainty. Both Al and Terry were great players, but that means nothing as to whether they can coach.

:hi: u are probably right but I would bet they could coach ... they both were in leadership positions and knew the different looks from the offensive scheems.. And they would be great motivators

AFTER he got fired. Had that not occurred when and how it did, I am almost sure we beat them.

Where Fulmer screwed up was not being able to beat AU and UCLA, two very close losses. Win those and he probably goes 8-4 and we are not in this mess today. Just MO.....

OP, I appreciate your sentiments, but in this day and age loyalty is dead on both sides. Was Saban loyal to the Dolphins? Is Spurrier still at Florida? Is Urban?

These days, I don't think you can count on a coach being around more than 4-5 years, unless he is a huge success, and maybe not even then. It's a new era...coaching tenures are dropping like a rock, and likely will continue to do so as long as salaries go up and TV continually pays more $$$. Just MO....

Having said that, I would love to have a long term successful coach, but I don't think we can make that a priority.

Yep, he only had 1 in 16 years... Whoopie

Not sure if serious.

I am going to give you credit and assume you are joking.

There are maybe a dozen coaches in history to win more than one.....and of those, only two are still coaching and (a) neither is available, and (b) they are both complete a__holes.

(B) is not relevant if they are winning, but it IS true. :dance2:

I always laugh when people say "Our" like they were a part of the team.....
