I've been saying for a long time that we need at least 4 top OL players in the 2016 class. Nobody wants to agree with me. All everyone want to focus on are the skilled positions. Price and Dickerson plus another OT prospect is needed in this class to go with Johnson. It will help that Zack Stewart will return in the spring. That would give us 5 incoming young talented OL.

We return four starters next season, but if they don't drastically improve, the lineup will look much different. Guys like Jones, Boulware, and Hall are already pushing the starters. Haven't heard much on Richmond, but he didn't enroll early and likely just needs more time.

...Since you weren't at the game, take time to re-watch it and pay particular attention to the position - for once. In addition to counting the number of times on the ground, make sure you also watch the 3rd-and-1 yd to go play on the goal line that ended in the next play being a field goal instead of a touchdown. You and Biopsy really have no clue - only emotions and inexperienced opinions.

You're right they all suck

While I do agree we need improvement there were several times in the second half where Dobbs left the pocket without cause only to run right into rushing defenders. He is responsible for some of the pressure he felt IMO. One other thing, since we have some issues with the OL why do we hardly ever run slants? We have big bodied receivers that can shield the ball and break tackles and they are quick routes.I've been complaining about this for years. Lastly I'm a fan of taking most of the snaps from under center where play action can hold up the defense more than all this fancy misdirection that most teams don't seem to be paying alot of attention to.JMO

I've been lurking on here for years, but I had to jump in on this. Obviously, you did not watch him play.

As a former o-line coach (granted not at the collegiate level, but still...), I can say that we scored 17 points IN SPITE of Thomas at Center. The kid looked terrible...he was on his knees or on his face at least 50% of the time, completely missed blocks, got no push when it mattered, not to mention the "snap infraction" on what was arguably the most important drive of the game. The only difference between this years and last years performance for him was that this year he had two guards covering for him the whole time.

Not sure why this guy deserves to play over Crowder...Butch making some questionable decisions this year

first we need our current coaches. not another staff to step up and empower Dobbs to make changes at the LOS. audibling out should fix our bland, vanilla offense. To our credit the coaches need to gameplan better. this is all on the coaching staff.

and yes oline recruiting cant hurt

I just watched again. The whole OL was awful and embarrassing to watch. Florida, Bama, and UGA will easily win. Just awful.

I agree dude oline just is well a disappointment again . Ant blame youth anymore. You don't here ou wining about youth. Our upperclassmen on oline are just not elite players

Robertson is really the only one that's special. Kendrick kyerbyson and weisman are just not that talented. Thomas is decent run blocking but his pass blocking even at center is still abysmal. Expect to see Jones hall Richmond boulware all maybe as early as next year.

I rewatched the game and focused on the center position. I had done the same with the BG game after being confused why the staff was so high on him. Thomas does best pulling but struggles recognizing stunts and blitzes. Several times he would help one of the guards and allow a defensive player clear passage up the middle. Does OK when someone lines up directly in front of him but appears to be lacking a bit of horse power. Still think he could develop into a quality OL if allowed to RS and was coached up a bit - IMO, TIFWIW, TWIT, BION, ETC
