YES Witch Doctor excited and trying to get thru this week. Witch Doctor like this team has a chip on its shoulder. Witch Doctor predicts(wildazz guess lol) two wins no matter and we are in and hope this team stays focused. Witch Doctor really really like Cuonzos approach and style. Witch Doctor tell Hart to get the checkbook out. Witch Doctor say lets lock this one down.

Here's what is telling. Only 6 people replied to the thread. We were so bad in December that people completely avoided the b-ball forum. Hard to down the guy when the rest of VN couldn't even be bothered to disagree, myself included, because it was so depressing.

If I were Kentucky, I wouldn't wanna play the Vols right now. Especially in a conference title game where we'd have nothing to lose.

I didn't post because it's what I expected. I was actually pleasantly surprised with our Maui showing. I had no clue what was really in store for this team. I figured the would gel late in the year and possible end the season a few games under .500. It cannot be stated enough what a tremendous job this whole staff has done. I know the cupboard wasn't left bare, but very few of the returning players had any meaningful experience. I remember folks saying to get ready to see the tarps in the upper deck, and how this program was in total disarray. Those who bashed the team early deserve to have their noses rubbed in it like a dog that defecated on new carpet (I don't do that to my dogs btw). I said we would be last years auburn, but have typed repeatedly how wrong I was. I also would have no problem at all if anyone found any of my old posts and rubbed my nose in it. Turnabout is always fair game. Heck, those that make a good prediction that turns out to be true, sure do gloat. Ok pointless post is over. Thanks.

Actually, it was more like any time a Tennessee team is struggling, the site is so overrun with NegaVols that it's not worth trying to post here.

We were outmanned and trying to learn a new system, and those kids just played way, way over their heads in Hawaii. I think it helped that we were playing a style that Duke and Memphis both hate to play against. You can only play over your head for so long, and then we had a letdown.

After the new year, the team started to really figure out the new system, and then we got Stokes, which provided us with the difference-maker we needed to really compete with good teams.

But in mid-December, let's be honest. No one thought we'd be 18-13 and second in the SEC on March 7, having beaten Florida twice, UConn and Vandy. and knocking on the door of a sixth straight NCAA bid.
