We should never play Bama again

If head to head records or strength of schedule doesn’t matter for rankings, why should we schedule bama every year or tough out of conference opponents?

While I agree we should be ahead of Ala, it's already known if Hooker was healthy we would be ahead of them. And we don't decide what SEC teams we play. No way your a true Vol Fan if you want the Alabama rgame to go away.

If Hooker was healthy... How is it already known? Serious question

Starting in 2024, our annual games will consist of two traditional rivals and one newbie.

For us, we need to play Vandy and Kentucky as the traditional rivals.

Then, we can pick up Missouri as our newbie.

Those three games will create our cornerstone.
I’m confident the SEC Commissioner will give us priority to choose our opponents before the others

I understand that but honestly it really doesn’t matter anymore. It’s not just about this year. The CFP committee has shown that quality wins don’t matter at all. So why keep on scheduling super tough opponents when we don’t have to?

I would rather play a cupcake schedule and make the playoffs than play a tougher schedule and never make it.
You do realize that TN and AL both requested and agreed to be each other’s permanent cross division opponent when the conference first went to divisional play, I hope. TN can’t just drop that game; the conference controls the in-conference scheduling.

I disagree. Rivalry games just mean more to the fans. That is one of the few things left that keeps purity in College Football.
And rivalry games get national exposure, fill the stadium and hotels and restaurants much better than a cupcake schedule as some have advocated.

We start beating them 2 out 3 years at a time and that will change.

I mean Vanderbilt and Kentucky are absolute no brainers. Not that we consider them to be much. But, both of those probrams hold us our their measuring stick. The third fixed game can be up for debate.

We are not a traditional rival for either Georgia or Florida. So, it won't be them.

Missouri needs a friend in the SEC, so it might as well be us. Some will argue for the cocks, aubie, or bammer. Those days have passed. Time to move on with Texas and Oklahoma on Team SEC.

We can keep the Fl, Bama, Georgia type TRADITIONS as we say OR have a full conference rotation. I don’t see how both can exist.
