Although I have my own doubts... You could pretty much use this as an autoresponse to every positive comment ever made here.

now i'm alot more optomistic now that phil is gone and it does appear that i was right the last 3 years. i think lane is the right coach and we will look alot better next year. i also think we will have a top 25 class this year, i just think he got in on alot of these recruits to late in the game to get a top 10.

Yea I heard where going to get DJ Fluker along with Trent Richardson as well. :banghead2:

Look if your right about TR then major props to you but he has been a Bama lock for a while now. Also, I would bet since coffe is going pro that would only make him that much more of a bama lock.

Consider this, If TR was going to be the dark horse of our signing class, you can beat that saban and company would also have heard word about this. They would be pushing for other RB's but they are not.

We've got between 6 and 9 guys more to sign, but that doesn't mean we will. I think our class size ends up at 23.

Richardson's own recruiting advisor (Boyd) said we've impressed him and that Tennessee has done things the right way.

It doesn't mean we get him but it means we're outclassing our rivals which will pay off shortly enough.

"Tennessee, they are on the ball in their recruiting efforts. I was impressed with them," Boyd said."

"The visits show me who really wants me. It shows who really cares. You can tell which coaches are real and which ones aren't." ---Richardson

I think we know Kiffin wants him and I think we know Saban's on record as being a habitual liar. If he listens to his mentors and advisors, then he should figure out who wants him the most and who is the most forthright.

I still don't say he's TN-bound, but I wouldn't call him a "Bama lock" until he's on their campus.

This goes back to last year. I remember how everyone thought we were going to close so strong...didn't happen. Let's wait and see.

I hope that's true but I don't expect Satan, Richt, or Meyer to go into retreat. In fact, if he scares them more than CPF then they could become much more aggressive in targeting UT.

FWIW... and that's probably not much... I don't think you were "right". I still think CPF deserved a shot to get it turned around. He failed... and was rightly shown the door.

You don't remember why though? UT's embarrassing discipline issues turned off at least two highly regarded recruits that probably would have been Vols. I think they both ended up at Clemson... one was a DT.

I do see us being a big surprise that day as well, but I am really not trying to get my hopes up, but that is getting more and more difficult everyday! I am just excited about the future of this program and definitely the class we will get in 2010.

I think the experts will consider it a surprise if UT manages to land a couple of guys like Brown and White and hang on to their current commits.

TR has been recruiting pretty hard for bama to get the like of ruben randall. Saban being a "habitual liar" or not does not mean the man cant recruit. If he had the slightest idea that TR wasnt bama bound you could bet they would be recruiting someone else, but they simply are not.

Do you think there's a slim chance his ego says one of the following---

1) it'd be stupid not to sign with Bama, he's a lock.

2) we can win without him, I'm a genius, screw him.

I personally am not holding my breath for these races where Kiffin & co. are darkhorses. I think it's unlikely we get him, but Saban seems to be his own biggest fan.

Has he ever taken responsibility after a loss?

Isn't he the Sept. 11th guy?

Didn't he fail to give Utah props after they thrashed his Tide?

to each his own brother. this is the first year in 5 years i'm excited about tennessee football. phil had his chances and couldn't even win the sec since 98. should have been gone 2 years ago in my opinion. kiffin will do us well. your right fulmer had his chance and failed, it was a waste of time. he just didn't have it anymore.

We can have a class full of 5 stars and without a QB, we won't win very many games. Kiffin better pull a miracle with one of these guys. I don't think we really got to see BJ Coleman to the extent that we have the other two, but I think we'll see...

I think that the complete change of the program will make all 3 qbs feel as if they have a fresh sheet of paper to work on. Not to mention I think they'll be better coached and in a more qb friendly system this season...but like I said, even if we didn't have better coaches I think the qb's do better next season anyway.

I have never met the man, so i will not try and pretend to know what kind of man he really is. The one thing i do know is that the man is one of if not the best recruiter in the game of college football right now.

What does Utah, responsibility for a loss, and sept 11th guy have to do with recruiting?

Saban compared a Bama loss in football to 9/11... and yes, he's a certifiable liar.

You need to read the whole thread. Richardson said on his visits that character will show through and he'll be able to read coaches who are dishonest and don't desire his services.

Saban is a habitual liar and if these kids mean what they say, then they'll pick someone with better character.

Who wants that guy as a mentor?

I wouldn't let my kid play for him.
