Turns out a rumor that I had never heard was untrue. This has been truly non-eventful

he didn't decommit if you take a min and look over at the recruiting forum a lot of talk that he would be told to look else where(BY THE VOL FANS THAT THINK THEIR 2CENTS MATTER) recruits read this forum and people just need to keep dumb comments about butch tells to look else where , won't make it cause of grades etc...Let the coaches do there job that's what they get paid for!!

Weatherd never decommitted. Texas A&M was thought to be a big player here, but he remained solid to UT. However, when he announced that extenuating circumstances prevented him from being an EE, everyone -assumed- that Weatherd had decommitted and was probably going to TAMU. Weatherd got bashed on his twitter from Vol fans for being a turncloak, and he's gotten a lot of heat here in his thread on the Recruiting page. After this, he announced (and rather frustrated) that he was still firmly committed to UT. These constant rumors and bashing and whatnot are only going to turn him away if he does not have the support of Vol Nation. This is definitely a difficult decision for him, and whether it's true or not I don't know, but a few of the fans have said that Weatherd DOES read things on this board.

If so, @Weatherd: Can't wait to have you here. Take your time, and we'll look forward to you going beast mode on the field next season.

Some of our fans overreact over any little thing. When he said that he wasn't going to be an EE, they worry warts started pacing back and forth saying that CBJ wouldn't take JUCO's unless they were EE. And then they get on twitter with that nonsense. A couple of our commits have already gotten off of twitter because of the foolishness.

I just Hurd that we Weatherd a serious storm so it's a Berry, Berry good day indeed!

This kids KNOWS that as soon as he knows our p[laybook that he'll be a instant starter and he wants to get on the field and play on Gameday.

Another urban legend created on VN.

This has been discussed by Doug Matthews on his show, so this isn't just some random VN poster's guess. In fact, more evidence came out this week about the staff strongly preferring the JUCO's to be EE's:

LWS gave his opinion on VQ concerning the numbers...

"After the early entries are on board and enrolled, look for defections to begin shortly there after. Staff will assess what they got in, what are the most critical needs for the short / long term and then defections will happen from that time frame to NSD. I would expect some early defections as they firm up prospects they feel good about getting.

IMO, Staff are very interested in JC guys for next year. Butch can see the makeup of the East division and JC kids that can come in and be plugged in might give him a chance to make a run at East next year. Generally, I don't care much for taking chance on JC players that can't get in until summer but think they might lean toward more if they believe the prospect can help. Critical to get OTs and DTs from JC to make that run I believe.

The fears of something changing with Weather's status were warranted, IMO.
