We'll see if this takes legs. UK getting investigated

Lol if it's true.

I really thought Calipari's history(half of which has been erased) would sell itself at Kentucky and he wouldn't need to bend/breaks rules. Even Kentucky's history isn't enough to protect him. That's all I need to know... if you have to 'cheat' at Kentucky when it comes to basketball, sad. Look at what Bruce Pearl has done here in a short period. We're no Kentucky and he is the opposite of a cheater. He just gets blackballed by cheaters for snitching. :p

Reading wildcrap nation..... I want to think the worst will happen. This sounds more like Lane Kiffin crashing and less like USC getting pounded.

For what it's worth. I predicted two year probation and loss of 5 scholarships a year. No one though that would happen. They got 10 instead. :)

KY Jelly should continue to fall while UT Vols continue to rise.

If true, the player is probably Wall. AAU coach's bro is an agent that "gave up his license".

That being said, you can beat the farm that every 5* stud recruit that would be jumping to NBA if not for the stupid one year rule, has had some contact with an agent. Directly and/or indirectly.

If this post doesn't scream "hey everybody look at me!" i don't know what does. Almost drama queen status.

You obviously haven't the slightest clue as to what I was talking about. It was funny watching it fly directly over you're head though.

I consider myself a bit of a rare breed in this forum because I was born and raised in East Tennessee and am a diehard Vols fan but also a huge UK basketball fan (spent lots of time visiting family in KY from a young age). With that being said, I hope nothing comes of the investigation for a couple reasons. The first being that Kentucky being a top tier team is good for college basketball. The second is the UT/UK rivalry- CBP has turned the Vols into a top 15 program, and nothing helps improve that (recruiting as well as general fanfare) more than playing well and winning nationally televised games against a rival that just so happens to be a top 5 program.

That's my $.02 and I'm sure I'll catch some flack for coming out as a Big Blue fan, but oh well, flame on :gone:

So, you are really implying, that you hope UK gets away with whatever transgressions Cal and the boosters/assisters might have committed. UK reasoning for sure. And your reasoning about UT playing against a top five program, hoping the/an investigation doesn't take place to impede that, is seriously flawed as well.

In hoping that nothing comes of the potential investigation I'm implying that I hope no rules were broken and there is no reason for penalty. If rules were broken, I hope it is dealt with properly, even if that means penalty.

The point about UT playing a top 5 UK, well, I can see that one taken the wrong way. Look at the UT/Bama football rivalry over the past 12 or so years. Between the Manning years in the 90s and the latter portion of Fulmer's reign I never really saw Bama as a threat to beat UT. Not because UT was so unbelievably great, but because Bama was simply lackluster. Did I enjoy seeing the Vols consistently beat the Tide, sure, but it just wasn't truly exciting. This past season, however, the UT/Bama game might have been the most nerve-wracking (read: exciting) UT game I've ever witnessed (by far the best UT/Bama game in recent memory).

Just because I am a UK fan doesn't mean I'm irrational and live my life with a Big Blue tint. I'm just like any other fan in that I hope my favorite teams do well and don't do things behind closed doors that can cause them to be penalized.

ps. I root just as hard for Pearl's Vols as I do for UK. When they play I always hope for a season split. Tourny time, I pull for them both, and if they ever played each other during March Madness I would probably pull for whichever is more of an underdog.
Just cause I pull out a blue hat from time to time doesn't mean my blood isn't that special shade of orange....

Hard to understand though, since you noted you grew up in East Tennessee, that you would hope for a season split, unless you are really a native Kentuckian. I don't know of any, though there probably are some, natives of Tennessee's three states, East, Middle, and West, that hope UT loses a season game to UK.

My mom is from Kentucky and her entire family still lives there, and they are diehard UK fans, so that's where it comes from.

If it were possible for both to win the same game or tie.....I would root for that. I just am huge fans of UT and UK and hate to see either lose, even to each other....

But I am a lifelong Tennessee native, born in UT hospital, grew up less than an hour from Knoxville.
