Comment From Todd (Nashville)

Tennessee hit 6 home runs this weekend in Gainesville after hitting only 4 prior to Friday. Do you think the warm weather will reinvigorate this team after losing almost a third of their pre-conference games to ice and snow?

Aaron Fitt:

Yeah, I still think the best is yet to come for Tennessee. It’s been a disappointing first month, but I still believe in the pitching depth and the offensive talent there. I still think the Vols will be a regional team, even in that deep SEC.

It doesn't help things that Serrano dropped Omaha several times in interviews before the season began. This team is worlds away from Omaha right now.

yeah..I was shocked at how much he was building this squad up..definitely got me believing..I like the man and think he is the answer..just make the SEC tourney and get a decent seed in a regional and I'll be satisfied this year

dave's recruiting....nationally by baseball America first year 20th then 16th then 13th then next years incoming 12th. he is getting in the tallent and can coach. He is one of 11 coaches all time to take two or more schools to Omaha. The SEC is tough but he will get us there. We were in a hole like our football team before CBJ.

Sweeping UGA this weekend would put the season back on track.

We are 1 weekend into SEC play and our margin of error is basically none at this point. I didn't buy into the Omaha talk but did expect to see improvement from last year and an NCAA regional bid this year.

I'm hopeful, but my confidence in DS is waning. Yes it's early, but this season already has an all too familiar feel to it. Really want him to be the answer and return this program to a competitive level, but doubts are creeping in.

Beginning to feel like Buzz Peterson years in basketball. Lots of hope but nothing else.

Yeah, I think I've had enough. Four years in and not much to show.

Yep. Have to admit that I'm feeling the same way. Just tired of the same old crap. Looks like the OP was right. Season looks to be over....and damned early if I do say so. Just sick that we're in this same position again this year.
