Well we would have been a lock for playoffs

Yep, now we would have been in. I was always worried about USC as a 1 loss PAC12 champ keeping us out OR the loser of Ohio State/Michigan if that was a close game. Since Michigan throttled Ohio State I think we were in over them because our loss to Georgia was on the road vs. they were at home. The last hurdle fell last night, we'd be in as long as we ran the Missouri-South Carolina-Vandy table. Makes me sick.

If we hadn't lost to South Carolina we'd definitely be in over Ohio State. Ohio State fell behind USC with their loss to Michigan, we were 2 spots ahead of USC at the time. These are the CFP rankings going into the South Carolina game below. We'd be in the 4 hole now and in the clubhouse.

That’s not how it works. Teams jump teams all the time based on the opinion of the committee. If we both had one loss, it could go either way

On every available metric we would be ahead of OSU. With an uninjured Hooker we would absolutely get in over them.

On every available metric we are ahead of Alabama. So once again, it’s not a lock that we would have been in. It’s possible, but not certain

Now if TCU loses, the argument can begin over the Vols and Bama!

I don't think the committee can put Bama in over the Vols because of the head to head outcome!

Does that mean the Vols get a shot after all?

Maybe!

I wish it were true, but they have them ranked over us for a reason; some of it played out last night.

If TCU loses in USC fashion, much less a loss in general, I think it shakes things up.

You will now have 5 teams with 1/2 losses who are not conference champs for 2 spots.

I was a bit pissed we were ranked below Bama, but I wasn't expecting BVS to set in and USC and TCU both lose. now we are a tcu loss away.

I think maybe the committee will have to look at the rankings in a chaos scenarios.

They got a lot of hell for Bama ahead of Tennessee this week. I will be curious to see if they rerank us ahead based on the chaos above. Regardless, we will be Top 6 and Orange Bowl bound for which i'm excited.

Even if they lose, they’re probably in. Otherwise you’re punishing them for playing in their conference championship (a feat neither TN or Bama was capable of) and for having a better record than either team
