It seems to me that for the last 4 or 5 yrs. we have always been concerned about DL, and this year is no different.I thought last year and this one we should have really hit DL and DE.

We have been thin there for alot longer than any of us would like. I don't know the reason for it either. Maybe dan brooks has bad bo or something.

Agreed. It has been alot longer. I don't know the reason either, but whatever it is it should have been fixed(either through firings or recuriting JC players?).

Fire someone on our all worldly defensive staff. Phil wouldn't have it.

I'd just like to point out that you guys are arguing about the symptoms, trying to figure out and blame those, instead of focusing on the illness. Coach Philip Fulmer has always been paramount in the recruiting glory years of his era. He has to shoulder responsibility when it unravels as well.

If you want to blame Caldwell and Brooks, look at the guys that have committed to Tennessee and look who their primary recruiters were.

It does no good to point the finger at anyone on our staff. They're never held accountable for it anyway. Kinda like the players and all the offseason bs. It just keeps happening and someone always turns the other cheek.

Caldwell and Brooks have had a hand in nearly every recruit that has committed so far.

caldwell is one of our better position coaches and dan brooks is one of the best line coaches in the SEC and maybe the nation

Like i said it does no good to blame anyone. Super trooper is to blame i guess. That seems to be everyones convenient excuse.

I'd say not winning the SEC in 9 years and having to go outside the state to get the majority of Tennessee's talent has a lot to do with it.

Boom or Bust is how nationwide recruiting is. It's easy to cover up getting turned down when you can offer to a 4 star in-state talent when the 5 star guy 3 states over says no thanks. Tennessee usually doesn't have that luxury.

The sky isn't falling and it isn't as bad as it seems or ever as good as it looks.

I know justin. I have to hear it from some friends who are florida and bubba fans. All i hear now is how bad we will suck in a few years. I wish i was younger i'd kick their butts and not worry about going to jail. Its annoying. I'am thinking about not answering their phone calls from now on.

Just tell the Bama fans they'll be on probation in a couple of years again.

UF fans, not much you can say, except Urban is a crybaby.

I'd almost bet both of them will be on probation in a few years. Urban is getting sloppy in some of his recruiting practices. Saban is to arrogant to care.

In my opinion, it was recruits no knowing if Fulmer would be around this year during the time of year that they were undecided, and all the negativity going around most of the season. Then the O staff leaving hurt the class closing hard as UT usually does and might still pull off. Finally you have all the discipline issues at critcal times at the end to put the nail in the coffin.

Does anyone know why SEC schools are permitted to offer more scholarships than they actually have available. I am not sure if other conferences can do this, but I do know that the Big Ten cannot. I've heard that Alabama has more commits this year than actual available schollies (knowing that not every single recruit will actually make it to campus next fall). All in all, I don't think we should worry as much that schools like Alabama are ranked as high was they are because it is somewhat hollow.
