Were we overmatched, outcoached or just lackadaisical with today's effort?

On that day and at that venue, yes. But, you can't help but wonder how it would have played out if it was a game at Neyland.

BTW, hey Eric A, if you're reading this... I generally enjoy your radio stuff, but you're not playing anymore. It's not your place to give the other team bulletin board material, especially about their stadium & fans' noise impact.

This year we played at Pitt and LSU and Vol fans were there in force & the LSU game was 11:00 AM. Equalizers to opposing team home field. Our fans couldn't buy enough tix for Athens. But you, and a few others, helped fuel the fire and those early motion penalties were killers. Were there other issues that contributed to the game loss... oh, many, but noise really hurt in the first half and not having the lead when 2H rains came was a killer.

Pls don't contribute to an f'up at USCjr... nor at the Sugar Bowl if we end up playing the other UT instead of UGA again in the final four
Good lord what is up with you people thinking the team is in the stands cheering?

Missed too many passes. Had he not over thrown most passes we would be undefeated. This is in his hands and his hands only.

Despite your awesome avatar, this is a ridiculous take. Hooker was under siege from the word go, took several coverage sacks because the WR's couldn't get separation, didn't have the benefit of our usual potent running game as UGa shut it down, didn't get the benefit of the usual YAC we get on slants and bubble screens because Georgia tackles so well, and was playing from behind the chains all day due to the false start penalties.

Yeah, he missed a few throws, made a few bad decisions, and wasn't razor sharp. This game was simply a matter of a more talented team exerting its will in very favorable conditions at home. Smart outcoached CJH today, but it helped that Georgia could afford to play press man all day and still get pressure without blitzing - how many programs will be able to do that to us? Quick answer - none.

Let's not pile on one player or coach looking to place blame - we were beaten in every way by a more talented, physical, well coached team in a hostile environment. It happens.

Minus a handful of unblocked sacks, he had 5+ seconds in the pocket all night, and didn't throw the ball away or run when given the opportunity.

Georgia sat in man coverage all night and Hooker didn't make himself a running threat to punish them for doing so.

We didn't get out coached but our coaches came in with a different game plan than any other game this season. We never really stretched the field. Short passes were what were dialed up and we couldn't execute. We didn't play "our game". We tried the scheme our way around their D. There was no aggression in our play calling. Our offense was completely capable of playing with that D.
Our Defense was clearly outmatched. Our secondary looks like a Div II team secondary.

GA just proved the old adage, " defense wins championships".

Agreed that he didn't throw it away enough, if at all. The sacks were all coverage sacks, as the WR's created little separation, and they tackled well when he tried to break contain.

Listen, Hooker didn't play well. Heupel didn't coach or adjust well. We got beaten in every phase of the game. Placing blame on any single player makes no sense, because we had breakdowns everywhere. It was a thorough ass kicking, so you get up, dust off, and get ready for next week. Hopefully we see them again on a neutral field.
