That was cool Uniforms. I liked the camo, and I thought it was neat how they camoed the numbers as well.

Thought that was pretty cool as well. I think the uniforms worked because it was Army. Something different, something neat!

I agree with therealut. The jersey's were absolutely horrible. Cool idea I guess, but horrible.

I thought it was great.

I work for with a lot of Corp of Engineer people. The military at a time of war only wear field uniforms. The active duty people at the Corp are never in dress uniforms since the start of the Iraq war.

I guess if fits to put the football team in field uniform.

The number would have been better in white, but you know Nike had a lot to say about this.

Here is the quote from the West Point press release...
..............................................

Building off the strong and unique look that the U.S. Military Academy has traditionally displayed, Army’s football team will debut a helmet and pant with a digital print camouflage pattern. The pant will feature the name “West Point” along the right side with a Swoosh design trademark. “Boots on the Ground,” Army’s slogan, will run along the left side of the pant.

In place of the name plate, “Duty, Honor, Country” will be displayed on the back of each player’s jersey along with their uniform number. Each player will also have a unit patch on the front of their jersey.

“The thought behind our new uniform design is something I’m very proud of and have enjoyed working with Nike on this special project,” said Army football head coach Stan Brock, “One side of our pant leg says “Boots on the Ground”. This is a distinction of West Point and it is what makes us different the other service academies. That’s an attitude that really separates us”.

Didn't watch the game, but I like the Army uniforms. Can't tell very much about the Navy ones from the pics.

If the unis generated this much talk about such a shoddy game, they're probably ok.

Most of what Nike does with uniforms deals with sales to fans -- not the teams. I know this is really not tha big of a surprise to capitalist out there. The military families and vets I know are pumped about getting their own jersey.

Good point on a the fact that uni's from a bad game generate discussion.

Had mixed feelings on the unis. Unfortunately it didn't matter what Army wore. They lost yet another one.

Those would be cool but only if they were cotton. I couldn't stand to wear a wool one.
I'll assure you West Point is into wool garb.

Most of the publicly available retro stuff is cotton. I ordered a 1905 game sweater remake for this year's game and it was cotton.

So, does your office come complete with leather personnel carriers and no room for football memorabilia?
mine has the room and I might go for the whole uniform.

My son might very well hate the one he gets for Christmas, but he's gonna have to suck it up. If they have a cheerleading getup, I'll hook my daughter up as well. Can't wait to join the camo wearing crowd around this joint.

The jerseys and hats are on backorder, so I guess Nike's plan worked.
