West Va. vs. Boise for the National Champ.?

If West Virginia beats LSU this weekend (it's possible), they have a cakewalk the rest of the year. Couple that with Boise, who would have to really have a choke job to not go undefeated, and those are 2 undefeated teams. If no one else goes unbeaten this year, that match-up becomes a very real possibility.

i can see this happening only if the sec, pac 12, big ten, and big 12 champs have at least 2 losses...

which could happen, but it's not very likely

wvu's bcs ratings would be good enough to get in if they ran the table, but boise still needs some help

Agreed.

A one loss team from a legit conference would go over Boise State

Neither team would get in undefeated, even if there were 1 loss teams. Their schedules are a joke. Boise is a legit Top10 team, but WVU doesn't belong in the Top20 from what I've seen.

WVU will get throttled by LSU and USF. Possible losses to Cinci, L'ville, Pitt.

Boise will go undefeated but rightfully left out of the title picture.

I don't know if I could handle all the delusional fans i live amongst if they went to the NC game!!

After LSU, I only see Cinci and USF being a potential threat to WVU. Their offense is really starting to click under Holgerson, and their D is getting better each game.

I'd kill to see this happen...with Boise playing anyone but WVU. I simply couldn't handle the hillbilly couch-burners having success of that magnitude, which is why I'm hoping LSU beats them by 30 on Saturday.

WVU would end up blowing the last game against Pitt or some nobody as they have done in the past.

If you're looking for a less than stellar team to make a run at the title, look at Virginia Tech's schedule. Not one significant out of conference game, and the only ACC games to worry about are Clemson, GT, and maybe Miami and UNC...and three of those four games are at home:

Sept 3 vs Appalachian State W 66-13
Sept 10 @ East Carolina W 17-10
Sept 17 vs Arkansas State W 26-7
Sept 24 @ Marshall 3:30 PM ET
Oct 1 vs #21 Clemson 6:00 PM ET
Oct 8 vs Miami (FL)
Oct 15 @ Wake Forest
Oct 22 vs Boston College
Oct 29 @ Duke
Nov 10 @ #25 Georgia Tech 8:00 PM ET
Nov 17 vs North Carolina 8:00 PM ET
Nov 26 @ Virginia

This is probably Beamer's worst team in a while, and it might be his best shot to get back to the title game.

VT will probably go 11-1/12-0 and lose to FSU in the ACC Championship Game.

I watched some of that East Carolina game. Tech was very lucky to win that game. Unless they really improve, there's no way they run the table. I can't see them beating Clemson, Miami, or Georgia Tech right now. Plus, they will still have a championship game to play against (presumably) Florida State.

Another note about West Virginia and LSU tomorrow. LSU only beat them 20-14 last year, with their defense and special teams both scoring. Just saying.

The best defense they've gone up against is Maryland. Currently ranked 93rd in the country. Followed by Marshall and Norfolk St. :birgits_giggle:

The only game I can see Tech losing is GT, and even then it's unlikely. I can only hope VT gets hammered by the media in November for their pathetic schedule like Boise does every year.

he has the same build, but that's about where the similarities end...

his arm isn't nearly as good or consistent, and he's yet to show much explosiveness when running

i hope LSU is brought to their knees along with their Corn Dog smelling fans are upset. However I dont see anything that makes me think the Mountaineers have a fighting chance.
