West Va. vs. Boise for the National Champ.?

How funny would it be if the two teams in the championship game both got snubbed by the superconferences?

If you're looking for a less than stellar team to make a run at the title, look at Virginia Tech's schedule. Not one significant out of conference game, and the only ACC games to worry about are Clemson, GT, and maybe Miami and UNC...and three of those four games are at home:

Sept 3 vs Appalachian State W 66-13
Sept 10 @ East Carolina W 17-10
Sept 17 vs Arkansas State W 26-7
Sept 24 @ Marshall 3:30 PM ET
Oct 1 vs #21 Clemson 6:00 PM ET
Oct 8 vs Miami (FL)
Oct 15 @ Wake Forest
Oct 22 vs Boston College
Oct 29 @ Duke
Nov 10 @ #25 Georgia Tech 8:00 PM ET
Nov 17 vs North Carolina 8:00 PM ET
Nov 26 @ Virginia

This is probably Beamer's worst team in a while, and it might be his best shot to get back to the title game.

Tech's got a piss poor schedule, but the team is awful from everything I've seen. I was at the Arkansas State game, and Arkansas State really shot themselves in the foot more than Tech beat them. I doubt they run the table, but they'll make it to the ACC Championship, where FSU will poop all over them.

Thomas could be pretty good, but it's safe to say the offseason comparisons to Cam Newton were extremely misguided.

Logan Thomas will not develop into anything.

He's slow for a scrambling QB, can't make reads, and can't throw the ball very well. Beamer should recruit actual quarterbacks instead of trying to convert athletes.

i'm not certain on that outcome

We've seen results of FSU-VA Tech conference championship game quite a bunch already, haven't we? Some of those FSU had to have been thought of as heavy favorites

This year Tech actually is that abysmal. The offense is horrible. Really, really horrible.

more horrible than usual? (they pretty much always just win games off of defense and special teams/blocked kicks)

They couldn't generate a push against Arkansas State to save their lives.

Early in the game they miraculously worked the ball inside the Ark. St. 5. Three runs, one pass, turnover on downs.

Their qb was recruited as a tight end and then converted back to qb. Against ECU they had 19 yds passing through 3 quarters. David Wilson their rb is just as good as lattimore and richardson. He is the only thing saving beamer.

The problem is their offensive line is lightyears worse than usual.

Which means they're pretty damn bad.

True. Plus I don't understand how beamer got caught without a qb on the roster. Not like someone transfered or was injured. He just failed to recruit one.

He has two true QBs, I think, they just suck hard.

JuJu and Leal.

I stand corrected. He actually has 3. That is some poor qb evaluation.

My guess Oklahoma v. Boise, only because I don't think the SEC will have an undefeated and Boise has the numbers now. LSU could possibly make it in with a loss based on one of the most brutal schedules I have ever seen but if the SEC is represented I am thinking Alabama.

If West Virginia beats LSU this weekend (it's possible), they have a cakewalk the rest of the year. Couple that with Boise, who would have to really have a choke job to not go undefeated, and those are 2 undefeated teams. If no one else goes unbeaten this year, that match-up becomes a very real possibility.

are you in a twelve step program?

Here's hoping. Death to the BCS.
Posted via VolNation Mobile

sure, because if it happens the BCS will just fold up.

What a stupid statement. If that did happen they'd tell you "see, the BCS works".

If you hate the BCS the last thing you want is non BCS teams in the NC game. Even worse, winning it. It validates their system
