Not that it’s common practice but couldn’t TN block Westbrook from going to UConn since they play them on their upcoming schedule? @mtsuraider06 @DeerPark12
This would be a total cluster if we were to try this given todays world we live in. Non conference. If someone dont want to be here, then let them go. A couple of teams have tried this in the past couple years and the press they got hurt them. We do not need to do this. Period.

Westbrook does not know yet cause she is waiting to hear from Coaches from other schools she wants to go to! Is this so hard to grasp!

All she has to say is "I'm going". Coach K doesn't need to know anymore than that at this point. Westbrook can make the "going to" decision later. Right now all that is needed is "are you going or staying".

When I first joined I gave out a little info and was ridiculed. But it was correct at the time. Things change. I know that. Ive dropped some here and there and when it was not what others wanted to hear they blasted me. Then it just pissed me off and my whole mood changed after seeing what a orange colored world we live in and just how hypocritical we have become here.
But you got over it and keep coming back to the orange you so very detest. 😴

If Evina goes to UConn and is granted immediate eligibility, then their chances at another NC just went way up. Sadly.

I would actually love if she transferred to UCONN. It would be revealing to say the least and fans who begged her to stay would be forced to move on.

"We've got a big caper lined up. Are you in, or are you out?"

Georgia Tech lost Elizabeth Balogun who was ACC rookie of the year and Elizabeth Dixon who was on the ACC all freshman team to transfer. Evina Westbrook could go there and be a starter on day 1. I don't know if she could make the grades to get into Georgia Tech, however.

Yes that would give her control but wouldn’t it add some extra spice to the UCONN game to see Evina wearing blue? Where’s your sense of drama?

Really if Kellie wants an answer she can make it for Evina if she wants to. Stay or go but lets get with the program. I felt after Holly left she would stay but her mother may say go. This so called transfer portal is a can of worms already. I am with Kellie all the way. If ZG is in trouble then she chose that road not anyone else. JMHO as always!
Is ZG wanting to transfer?

Revealing when Geno turns her into an All-American after 1 year? Don't understand why Evina is still getting the Diamond treatment when it should be crystal clear that the problem was always Holly.

Well she certainly wouldn’t beat out the beloved Dangerfield for starting pg so either she’ll be forced to slide to the 2 (wait, what about Williams?) or come off the bench.

She would replace Samuelson at wing in the starting lineup, and would likely thrive there. PG - Dangerfield SG - Williams SF - Westbrook PF - Walker C - ONO.

Good luck getting Evina to play anything but pg. I’d pay money to see it tho. I’m sure she’d be much more willing to compromise there than she was here.

You’re probably on the right track here.

Does anyone know how many scholarships the Lady Vols’ budget can comfortably support each year? I’m pretty sure that the NCAA allows up to 13 scholarship players on a roster, but it seems like it has been a while since Tennessee has actually had that many players. I don’t know whether that’s due to the staff actually preferring to keep the numbers under the maximum allowed to cut down on issues regarding playing time, or whether they stay under the maximum in order to save money.

Also, I think in addition to 13 scholarship players that a roster can contain two walk-ons, too. I read somewhere else that even more walk-ons can be part of the team for home games but not available for road games. Does anyone know FOR SURE the rules regarding roster numbers?

I ask about all this because the new, troubling trend of program-hopping transfers has me thinking that coaches may be wise to start stocking their rosters with a few more players than they’ve been typically been handling.
15 scholarships for women and that is how many any University is supposed to be able to support.

It's no longer legal for coaches to block certain schools. Players are now free to transfer wherever they want.

I would be stunned if UConn would take her. I think Oregon State and Gonzaga are the most probable.

IIRC, she expressed preference for playing at PG, but I don't know if that was a deal breaker for her.

In a system like UConn that prioritizes player movement and crisp passing, she will have plenty of opportunities to rack up assists. Samuelson had 130+ assists to Evina's ~160 playing at the wing. If anything, I think that kind of offense suits her game better than Holly's rigid "pass it in the post or um, read and react and stuff and such as".

I agree, I think she's headed back west. I don't see Geno being interested, he just made recent comments about many coaches being afraid of his players and that's why he recruits how he does. I can hardly imagine he would want to add a player into the mix who had at least some hand in getting her previous coach fired. Too much drama there for Geno.
