Westbrook Gone

The good news out of this is, the new coach didn't allow this to fester. She told Westbrook to make a decision. Are you with us or not? Allowing this to hang over the program would just fester and hang over the team like a dark cloud until it was settled. Now they can move on and know what they have to work with and what they need. Kellie made another Pat-like move. Or if you don't want a Pat comparison, I think it is what most top level coaches would do. Good job coach.
I agree with your comments. Also, this sends a firm and decisive message to the other players.

Evina did not want Holly to leave for the reason I stated in a previous post. The coaching change gave her an incentive to leave instead of the expected incentive to stay. Sad, sad situation.
If playing PG was the (or at least "a") major factor in her decision, that desire will likely limit her transfer options.

Ya know, the LVs will actually need players for next season. Perhaps rather than cheering on LVs' key players to transfer, you could hope that, with a new coach at the helm, their attitudes and orientations might change for the better.

Or are you in the camp, that the LVs problems were do to those rotten no good players and that Holly got a raw deal?
Apparently you don't read so well !! We will get players and those ever how many are cancers LET THEM HIT THE GYM DOOR!!! RAH RAH AND NO NOT IN ANY CAMP

If she goes to OSU and plays immediately... they win it all next year.

Ionescu
Westbrook
Boley
Sabally/Sabally
Hebard

Wow...she would also get 2 years with both Sabally sisters. I wish her luck and I can’t wait to watch her play for a competent coach within a real system. Just wish it would have been here :/

Thank you E.Westbrook. Had you not spoken out after our loss to UCLA. H.Warlick would still be the head coach. Good luck, and I wish you much success.

If she goes to UO she won't play nearly as much. Both Sabally's will start.

Ionescu
Boley
Satou Sabally (plays 2-4)
Nyara Sabally (3-5)
Hebard

Plus they have Chavez who was very good early in the season but was hampered by some minor injuries. Westbrook does not shoot, rebound or pass as efficiently as Chavez, she cannot out shoot Boley and she has no chance of winning a starting spot over either Sabally sister. Those girls are incredible talents. I think going to Oregon would be a poor plan unless she intends to sit a year and then take over after Ionescu, Boley, and Hebard graduate.

Oregon State might be a better fit, they lose McWilliams this year, but Goodman was excellent for them coming off the bench this season so she likely starts for them next year.

THANK YOU! Because I have a 7 month old daughter and I cannot imagine the anger I would have if she grew up to play college basketball and stupid fans criticized her on social media. IT’s one thing to point out flaws and mistakes, etc. but some of the things people say are just ridiculous. I’d vulgarly cuss out ANYONE on social media for saying something about my kid. Maybe I should let her play tennis or something. Lol.
In reality, Westbrook is a closed issue, transferring was her choice and beating her down on the way out the door is senseless and uncalled for. I wish her no ill will, may she find success at another university. We need to move on and concentrate on the future of the players we have.

Ionescu's team has a great shot at a National Championship next season. Jackie's did not. Westbrook also removed Oregon from her list when Ionescu committed.

Ionescu, Westbrook, and DeCosta at Baylor originally all planned on going to college together. At that time, it seemed like Oregon, Washington or UCLA were the likely destinations to make that happen.

But, much like other plans for that to happen (like Davis/DeShields and Russell/Mavunga), that plan fell apart once visits happened. Ironically I expected to get DeCosta, not Westbrook, but the opposite happened.

I'm still surprised to this day Westbrook came here. She would've flourished at Oregon or ND with their offenses, and had she gone to ND she would have a ring.

One would think with Decosta not getting much if any Playing time this year at baylor she could possibly transfer to Tennessee ? Evina wont be a huge blow bc of Horston coming in with pretty much the same skill set and court vision .

That's standard practice at Baylor, I don't think she's going anywhere. She was limited to start the season due to an injury then never really worked her way into the rotation. Most freshman at Baylor do not. Typically your playing time picks up toward the end of your sophomore year and you start Junior year if you stick with it.

I can't imagine someone transferring from a team that just won the national championship to the current Tennessee situation just for more playing time.

It was mentioned that Washington was originally a potential destination for Westbrook. At that time their coach was Mike Neighbors who is now at Arkansas. Any possibility she might stay in the SEC and go play for Mike? She would probably get to play PG there and Dungee would stay at the 2.

Assuming she could get a waiver to play immediately. If he picked her up Arkansas could be a reallllyy tough team next season.

Had Tennessee beaten UCLA I think Holly Warlick could very well still be around
No, the decision was made in January. Actually, Fulmer wanted Holly to "retire gracefully" last year, but Holly asked for another year, citing the recruits coming in. Fulmer let her know his expectations, and he arranged the buyout and salary structure so that he could do exactly what he did.

Very smart move by Phil Fulmer;)

Who are these “others” you speak of besides Alexa? Who all transferred to different colleges under Holly’s tenure and flourished?

Yeah...because “leaving” only equates to transferring. Almost all of our players whether they transferred or went pro, looked MUCH BETTER in a defined, well-coached system. Westbrook will as well.
