I’m just wondering if we don’t make the playoffs, what bowl do we go to?
Would we really play a 3 loss Big12 team? 👀

Initially thought we'd be a lock for the Sugar Bowl. Having second thoughts due to LSU. They win the west and make the SECCG but lose and I think they might sneak in. After that, Orange maybe?

A lot of the projections I have seen since Sunday have the following:
Playoff
2 Ohio State vs 3 TCU (Fiesta Bowl)

1 UGA vs 4 Tennessee (Peach Bowl)

NY6
Clemson vs Alabama (Orange Bowl)

LSU vs Kansas State (Sugar Bowl)

Washington vs UCF (Cotton Bowl)

Michigan vs USC (Rose Bowl)

If I were a NY6 bowl, I would not want any part of Bama. The fanbase is very disappointed with this season and probably will not travel well.

New orleans might want the revenue from hotels as opposed to taking LSU

I have mixed feelings on this one. It would be nice to play close to home, but I’m not sure we want Ga in 1st round and IN Ga ? It’s a neutral site and equally represented perhaps - but it’s still in Ga … ? Plus I think they hold a Ut/Ga matchup until the final game if possible. If we win out with big wins I think I we get in as a 3

I think if we get in we’re going to be in Tempe.

Id we do miss out on the CFP, I would rather play Clemson rather than K State.
Mostly because I work with a bunch of Clemson alumni, but also for recruiting implications...tell Dabo emphatically to stay the F out of Tennessee !!!

If TCU gets into the playoff Tennessee and Clemson would be a true Orange Bowl.

Bowl Selection Process

Which SEC Team qualifies for the CFP?
The winner of the SEC Championship Game automatically qualifies for a spot in the Sugar Bowl if that team is not selected to participate in the four-team playoff. If the SEC Champion is selected to participate in the four-team playoff it will play in the Peach Bowl or Fiesta Bowl. The next highest-ranked SEC team not in the four-team playoff goes to the Sugar Bowl.

Yeah, but you dont think UT is gonna get a large cut like every University

Last I heard bowl money in the SEC was divided as follows

1/7 to the school in the bowl.
1/14 to the SEC Office.
11/14 - to the SEC School pool to split evenly among all SEC schools.

I lived there for 7yrs so I knew some spots. At least for the game, Glendale is nicer
I’ve never been. I was just messing with you. I guess I always associate the Fiesta Bowl w/ Tempe. I forgot that the Toaster is in Glendale.
