They take travel expenses out and then split evenly the remaining amount if I understand correctly

If UT doesn't go to the playoff woe to whatever team has to play them in the bowl game.

Ehh, that could go the other way very quickly as well.

I hope that they are motivated no matter where they end up.

A lot of the projections I have seen since Sunday have the following:
Playoff
2 Ohio State vs 3 TCU (Fiesta Bowl)

1 UGA vs 4 Tennessee (Peach Bowl)

NY6
Clemson vs Alabama (Orange Bowl)

LSU vs Kansas State (Sugar Bowl)

Washington vs UCF (Cotton Bowl)

Michigan vs USC (Rose Bowl)

I really don’t want to play Georgia in the peach bowl. Basically another home game.

This makes more sense because of the conference tie ins . TN vs Kstate doesn’t seem like a should be played. But a TN vs TCU has a better matchup. ACC is out of playoff because it’s an easier way for the bowl selection. The rose bowl is most likely Michigan/Ohio state vs pac12 champ. If the PAC12 champ goes to playoff , the rose bowl gets next in line but that forces TN out to play Kstate . I think they want certain matchups and then manipulate the rankings to make sure it happens
