I wasn't sure if you were annoyed by his hypocrisy, his arrogance (assumption that he would be reelected) or his policy.

Will be interesting to hear the explanation for the comment - anyway it's saying I have to say one thing to get elected but will do something else when my reelection doesn't matter.

He's a politician, it's all about reelection, for all of them. He just got caught saying that, where most of them don't.

IMO, when it comes to missile defense and Russia, always tell them what they want to hear because they are ridiculously paranoid about it, and it usually has little affect on what our actual plans are. We just want to keep them happy enough that they don't back out of START.

And if I had to guess why this is an issue now is because we are ramping up aegis systems around Iran, which also happen to be close to Russia. I'm thinking Obama is walking a tight rope to maintain relations with Russia. (And yes, I do think New START is worth it)

China and Russia both know that if they ever launched ICBM's at us they would be wiped off the map.

We have enough Trident 2 on our subs to turn Russia or China into a Mushroomcloud. Thats not even considering our Silo's and Bombers.
